Daisuke Sakai

Daisuke is from Osaka in Japan, commencing his career after graduating from the TSUJI Culinary Institute. His first job was at a traditional Kappo restaurant in Osaka, where his passion for sushi and sashimi flourished. Daisuke spent a year soaking up knowledge learned from his fellow sushi chefs. Daisuke began working at Saké Hamer Hall as Sushi Chef in 2012. The talented cook’s expertise and leadership potential was noticed and he was promoted to Head Chef at Saké Eagle Street Pier.

The set menu was perfectly created. Food was tasty and the look was beautiful. Service was top-notch. One of the best Japanese restaurant in Brisbane. We were thinking of dine here so that we can watch riverfire, however we did not have a seat by the window, but it was a great night anyways, we were drawn in by the food and did not care about what was happening outside. Top choice.

Was a special night for my husband and I as we were celebrating 4 years since our first date. Sake is a favourite restaurant of ours and we have visited in Melbourne as well. Superb food, wine, cocktails and service.

Wow! Great food drinks service and presentation all round. Just what I have come to expect from the restaurants wanting to survive on the pier. Chefs degus was to die for, be prepared to pick up the pace if you are accompanied by a small eater. 10/10

For an intimate dining experience look no further than the Ita Mae private dining rooms. Our three separate rooms can hold 6 guests each. A minimum of 4 guests is required to book a room. To book this space you agree to a minimum spending of $450 on food and beverages on the day.
