Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Perfect night out. Fantastic street food starters. Informal, serves booze, what's not to like?
We love Sauma but hadn’t been for a long time. Loved the sweet touch of the floating water and candle bowl near our table. Food was authentic, fresh and delicious. Fantastic for a tasty pre-theatre dinner.
Enjoyed Sauma especially after the Black Swan show and Sikh experience. Delicious food and excellent service. Altogether we had a great night.
Great evening food excellent a little on the expensive side
Great place for all occasions
Booked a table for 8pm sat Night. Place was full and Buzzing. Service was excellent all night. we picked the STREET FOOD ADVENTURE menu at $50 a head. we are not big eaters, portions were small but tasted lovely. All in all, a lovely place to eat, but felt it was a little pricey for this menu.
Amazing food and great service!
Delicious food with a difference! Interesting and tasty cocktails! Must try!
Long tables so if busy you will need to share table
Friendly, attentive service and a great atmosphere couldn't save lacklustre food. A couple of standouts (Pani Puri shots and chargrilled squid) but several misses. Flavourless curry and disappointing naan and samosas
Brilliant Indian food in a modern atmosphere. Service prompt and drinks list good. Will be going back.
I absolutely love eating here and each experience is as good as the previous. The food is amazing. I have recommended Sauma to many people and they have all bee very impressed
Wondeful Thallis for Father’s Day! Great value for money
Booked Sauma for a small birthday celebration. We had the ‘Street Food Adventure’ menu — every course was absolutely delicious!
We booked for a bite to eat before going to the theatre and were not disappointed. Wonderful service, lovely cocktails and the food - sublime. Try the pani puri tequila shots!
Comfortable, friendly, nice vibe, great location and lovely food
This is one of our favourite restaurants in Perth. The service and food never disappoint. We will keep coming back.
Hands down best Indian is Perth. My go to for every special occasion, food is modern but doesn't stray for traditional flavours, portion sizes are perfect!
Good quality curries, especially the butter chicken. The goat curry is a bit spicy so be warned!
We ordered the street food adventure, was very very slow to get to table and portions were laughably small, I mean really small. Food tasted great, whilst busy the male waiting staff who took our order kept his eyes down for the rest of the visit, never showed any further interest in us, additional female staff was good to explain to us what landed at the table. The mocktail ordered was a disgrace of an offering, arriving in small red wine glass with the glass only half full, if you removed the ice I suspect 70ml of liquid in the glass for $12! Tasted like str8 cordial and a squeezed lemon, with a flower or two in it! ( we noted a sign on the window asking for bar staff with cocktail experience! Let’s hope they fine one soon). This place is busy and has a good vibe, seems a good balance of ages 30-60 plus, this indicates to me it a haunt for regular clients. A good sign overall, I would go back with the knowledge I gained from my first visit and order main dishes, where I suspect there is better value for money. But the mocktails can stay behind the bar!! The Butchers Shiraz was very nice at $10.00 for a very small glass, I would have a bottle next time at $45.00 Food 8/10 Service 7/10 Value 6/10

Indian street food comes alive
At the heart of enlivened, heritage Northbridge Sauma adds a chicly rustic meeting place to Perth’s cultural precinct. Set facing the vibrant hub of a bright and animated community, Sauma presents a modern Indian street-food experience – emphasising freshness, creativity and raw charm. While outside the neighbourhood buzzes, the restaurant interior offers a playful invitation to calm with low light blushes on exposed wood, textiles and Bombay miscellany; cultivating a colourful warmth. The menu pays homage to Indian street food and the team’s love of West Australian produce with street, small and curry dishes. Dishes include morsels like waygu beef samosa roast cumin, cloves and beetroot ketchu; delhi chicken tikka tandoor roast chicken, cardamom, coriander, green apple and korma sauce; and cone bay barra fish curry shallots, ginger, green chili, curry leaves, beans and coconut milk. Sauma also operates as a deli by day offering coffee, tea, juice and lunch express specials.
