6/10The food portions were small. The fish was very dry. How ever the service was very good. Wine is a little on the expensive side for what it is. Not in hurry to go back

7.5/10The food was amazing but the prices not so much they charged an extra $5 to have prawns but there was for only 2 prawns. The eye fillet was to die for but the size left you wanting more and hungry as it wasn't filling. Other then that great food and stuff...

8.5/10Hailed as an all-time favourite by the locals, the reviews on TripAdvisor criss-cross from one star to five, with comment like “outstanding” and then “don’t waste your money”. All round this is a great place to eat, provided you understand what you’re getting. We were misled and if others had a similar experience, this may be a reason for customer annoyance. Firstly, we booked this place specifically because of an Amex Small Shop bonus point promotion, only to arrive to see no Amex signs. When we enquired we were told it wasn’t accepted. Confused, we looked up the Amex app which confirmed it was accepted. When we showed this to the staff, it was admitted they actual do accept the cards, but prefer not to. The owner needs to realise that accepting Amex is a consumer drawcard. We were ready to leave, but were assured we could use Amex, which we eventually did, no issues. Also, their website claims “Scampi’s Seafood Bar and Grill take advantage of the vast array of local fresh seafood and produce” which is simply not true. The menu included prawns and scallops from Queensland and fish from New Zealand. In fact, I asked the waitress what seafood was local, only to be informed there wasn’t any local produce other than the Hastings River oysters. Not even the daily special was locally sourced. I don’t have a problem with frozen seafood prepared well, but don’t pretend to be something you’re not. The website also boasts “magnificent ocean views” which they are, albeit more of a glimpse, and depends where you’re sitting. All that said, what we ordered was really nice. Some of the best oysters Kilpatrick we’ve had and, even though the rest of the seafood wasn’t fresh, it was certainly tasty (including the New Zealand battered ling and Mooloolaba scallops). We absolutely loved the (Queensland) prawn linguine which loaded with enough garlic to kill an army of vampires. Staff were also much friendlier than suggested by TripAdvisor reviewers (and we loved their funky aprons), although as the restaurant got busy they were struggling to keep up.

3.5/10We were left waiting (ignored) for far too long upon arrival. The head waiter was poorly presented. The ambience was non existent and the food average.

7/10Service was a bit slow but once they finally took our order the food came quickly and was very good. I had barramundi which was cooked to perfection with crispy skin, hubby had soft shell crab salad with good Asian flavours. Only thing to beware they brought my 7 year old a kids bowl of ice cream with 4 scoops! Way too much for a kid.

8/10We were there on a busy Saturday night and the service was a bit slow but the staff were trying their best. Food was fresh and very good. We were sceptical after reading bad reviews but were not disappointed with the experience. I would recommend it.

10/10Such a beautiful restaurant. Our waitress was so lovely, it was a beautiful night so she even asked if we would like to sit outside. The food was Devine. Best oysters I have had in a long time. Highly recommend the scallops too. The squid and linguini for our mains and were both sensational. Will definitely be back every time we visit Port.

5.5/10Very disappointing food. Especially the parmigiana fish.... I was expecting a delicate piece of fish topped lightly with the parmigiana flavours...... instead it was enormous pice of fish covered in a batter and sauce and cheese which would Not even make a pub menu proud.
