The small restaurant was lovely In terms of atmosphere, the staff welcoming. The food was very authentic Greek fare but terribly heavy and stodgy. If you like rustic heavy Greek food you would like this place but the photos gave the impression it might be a bit lighter: not the restaurant's fault: that is Greek food for you ...
Our group of 8 people enjoyed our dinner. Good selection with quality ingredients. The only downside is that it is a very loud restaurant & no thoughts of doing something about the acoustics for the enjoyment of the diners. You could barely hear the person sitting right beside you. For this reason we probably won’t be visiting again.
Seed is a gem! So glad it’s in our neighbourhood! The best place in the Inner West!
Great local restaurant. Lovely food and service.
Found the $35 mid week special value for money. The food was lovely, nice wine and great service
Authentic Greek cuisine with good Greek beer options (more than just mythos). Outstanding service. Only complaint being the entree portions were a bit too small for the price point.
Lighting was a bit indufficient -- made it difficult to read the menu
Super yummy dishes, slow cooked lamb out of this world!
Lovely food, great quality and very tasty.
I do not really want to tell you how outstanding the food is, how I grunt with each bite because of it’s delicious flavours. I do not want to tell you how perfect the service is. I do not want to tell you because you will go. And then you will want to keep going. And then we will never get a booking... But I will say it’s bloody good food.
I think I must eat here most months. We had the lamb shoulder (again!) and I have to say every time it gets better. It’s just the best! We went with just the Tarama dip instead of the usual trio again because we love it the best! And the Youvetsi - nourishing and tasty with the feta on top. If I had room I would have had the eggplant chips and the sardines too but I was too full. I love this place. LOVE IT
The food was great although our lamb had a lot of bones and not much meat. The service was excellent.
What a great find amazing food and fabulous service we had a great night
The food was great- recognisably Greek but as well as the usual offerings there were lots of less common dishes and specials. I was also pleasantly surprised by a really nice Greek red wine and whilst Saturday night is a no BYO night the wine list was good and the mark up was not great in that the very good wine was around $50+ The service was great and our waitress was very solicitous providing advice about the wine and food including quantities for sharing and even checked with us because she thought we might have paid too much - we had actually just left a tip that we thought was commensurate with our experience. My only criticism- and I feel it about a lot of restaurants nowadays is that the noise level made conversation difficult.
The food is always authentically Greek, but with imaginative dishes you would not find elsewhere. The wait staff are fabulous.
We always enjoy ourselves ar SEED
simple, but good food. Friendly service. BUT, VERY VERY noisy with large groups. They should be accommodated in the upstairs room or the restaurant should line walls with sound absorbing decorations. We had to leave due to noise
Went because of the mid-week special of 6courses with a glass of wine for $35. The food was reasonable, nothing that I would have normally ordered, and sardines pick of the crop. Only a choice of 2white wines, with BYO $10per bottle, excluding Saturday's. Parking was tight.
We had the kleftiko but were unable to finish it as it was really heavy, overcooked in parts and greasy in others. Pork souvlakia was lovely. Service was impeccable. The menu was quite pricey for the food that arrived.
Good service and food. Fairly limited menu but food was fresh and well prepared. Good value wine list. Will go back.
88 Audley Street, 2049, Petersham, Australia
Greek fare in the heart of Petersham Set in the vibrant suburb of Petersham, Seed celebrates the very best of modern Greek cuisine. Think prawns saganaki, home made fettuccine with sautéed squid, and luscious baked sardines. Chef Tim Vatsaklis adds a Greek touch to everything he does, which is best seen (or tasted) in the moussaka, grilled halloumi and stuffed zucchini flowers. The dining space is rustic and charming, with a family feel that emanates from the kitchen and flows through all of the staff. It is, in short, like taking a little trip to the village. Which village, you ask? Any one of the tiny, food-focused towns through Greece. Best dish: Courgette flowers stuffed with feta, leek and thyme
