Maybe some more savory things and less sweets on the top plate. Scones were very nice though and so fresh.

Will never return. Overpriced and underwhelming.

Very disappointed with service and quality of food part of our order was forgotten had to ask for it to be given. Tea was not hot, sandwich’s were very poor with regard to filling and the bread did not appear fresh possible fine for toasting but not gourmet quality. Ask for water did not arrive before we left. Having visited other shingle inn establishments this particular one was extremely lacking. I am still wondering what an extra $2.00 on my bill was about. My guest had just arrived in Brisbane and expressed how disappointing it was . I would not feel comfortable bringing business clients to this outlet again

I thought the food quantity was average, the cake quality very average, the prices too expensive for what was served. I was expecting so much more for such a well known establishment. In saying this the service was pretty good. Will definitely not be going back.

I went for mother’s day high tea. Even though I paid the $65 and as a gluten free high tea was required I was greatly disappointed with the gluten free selection. We only received toasted sandwiches that were soggy and full of butter and massive slabs of brownie and almond cake. We also didn’t receive our champagne promptly like other patrons. The ‘normal’ high tea looked lovely but would not recommend this venue for a gluten free high tea as I was greatly overcharged for what food we got.

To be honest, we were underwhelmed by the experience, which is very disappointing! To spend $42 per person on a High Tea experience for my mother's 82nd birthday, and to only have two ribbon sandwiches of each type served for four people, no other savoury items, and also no mention of my mother's birthday (which was contrary to the advertised information re birthday cake etc.) I found to be extremely disappointing and definitely NOT worth $42 per person (for four people). I would not go back, even though the atmosphere is lovely and the staff were very polite, I believe it is very busy, noisy and you are made to feel that you need to rush out to make room for another group.

I was very disappointed with the service that was provided. We had to wait nearly half an hour to be served, some menu items were not provided and were then asked if they were still needed as we paid (the items were included in the price). We would dine there again, only for the option of the children's high tea but the service was very disappointing and some of our party actually left because they couldn't wait any longer to be served.
