The food was great and the views and decor fabulous. The service was a little off, not sure if the staff were all new or if there weren't enough of them. For the price I would probably expect less clumsy service. Getting attention for cutlery, drinks service was slow, had to ask for glasses, ice, they didn't clear empty glasses or plates, they weren't used to serving at a table or where to put side plates, it was all a bit of an awkward mess, but it was a casual lunch catch up with friends - they just stuffed up so many times that we all noticed. At the end the bill was split incorrectly (only need to split in half) - it shouldn't have been that difficult but summed up our experience perfectly.

On arrival we had to ask for our table to be extended as we were too squashed in. As we were the only table on the night we couldn't understand their reason.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND any one to attend. Had to follow up with Waitress for entree after 45 Minutes consisting of damper and cold pate after ordering and the main meal lamb and duck after 1 hr 30 minutes. It was clear that the Kitchen staff were preoccupied by a constant delivery of burgers to a seperate table occupied after our seating. Asked the waitress whether their was drink service she offered a drink menu without advice e . In approaching the waitress for service after the second main meal delay . Was advised that there had been a recognisable number of complaints already . with this service there should be a duty to warn attempts at bookings of the expectations in service.

This is a lovely restaurant and the interior design and feel of the place is beautiful. From the onset it was apparent that they were understaffed. I think all the staff were lovely and they were definately trying their best but they were clearly stressed, tired, and frankly, a bit over it. We had to ask for drink lists, then for more drinks, for the table to be cleared. We weren't offered dessert but we indicated we would have coffee in the bar ... to escape the flies! They were terrible and did nothing to improve the day. This restaurant definately lacked a maitre'd or host to 'pull it altogether' and help out where needed. It is huge restaurant (bar, terrace and restaurant) and I genuinely felt for the waiters having to cover it all. The food was lovely (we shared the lamb shoulder, it was delicious), wine list is great.

Great venue, staff and food. Good variety with both restaurant and bar menu available. Can be great place for a quiet couple dinner but sometimes has large groups (which can be noisy) however if you call and book they always let you know if there is a wedding etc so you can make the choice. It never bothers us and we always enjoy The Springs and recommend it highly

With the produce coming from the farm and going straight on your plate, you know you’re eating the freshest produce. The Sitting Duck resembles exactly what you’d expect. Sporting modern farmhouse decor, these guys provide an intimate dining experience. The menu changes regularly depending on the season and produce, and caters for all dietary requirements.
