Great atmosphere and really good food and wine. However, we were disappointed that there wasn’t any live music on this particular Friday evening!

Wow wow wow,booked on the fork with 50% discount on al la carte menu.we have visited Madeira 3 times in a year and eaten at over 35 restaurants but have never experienced food or service like tonight.octopus aperitif curry prawn starter and Vietnamese strarter,my 17 year old twins had 1kilo of aged ribs with big chunky chips and peppers,I had steak(medium rare cooked perfect)and my fiancé had smoked duck with roasted veg.amazing baklava desert with fresh fruit,lemon meringue pie with fruit and ice cream,Irish coffees and Nikita with house white wine(very nice,complimentary chocolate cake and 10 year oldComplimentary 10 year old Madeiran wine.beautiful jazz music in background.a smoking area upstairs with separate bar.the waiters were 1st class and we even met the chefs and kitchen staff after we’d finished.it had only been open 10 months and is listed at 54 on list of restaurants.it is and should be no 1.we have booked for our last night and can’t wait.please book if you are in Madeira,do not miss this amazing 1st class restaurant.it is a very warm restaurant but I believe they are getting air conditioning soon.thank you waiters and kitchen staff for a memorable night we will be comparing every restaurant to this one.ive eaten in Vegas London New York Rome and many places but this is the best.thankyou agin to all staff
We expected much better food, specially the meat dishes. The dishes looked much better than they tasted. If they call themself a steakhouse, they should be able to serve good meat meals, but the spareribs were very dry and it was really not much meat on the bones and the Carpaccio was not of good quality, salty and dry (if you have already eaten good somewhere else you would know the food was of low quality). Other issue was the hectic waiter who asked even twice for preferences during one person of two was not at the table. It is also pretty tricky to offer 50% and 20% off the bill, but netto (!) and add afterwords all taxes. It was the first time we booked via the fork and it was unfortunately a disappointing experience at this restaurant.

Compliments to Chef Andres! He prepared a 7 course meal for my wife and me who were celebrating a major milestone. They were extremely warm and attentive and made our evening very special. The food and wine pairings were tremendous and it made for a wonderful and memorable evening. Outstanding!
The food, service and overall experience were amazing. The interior is nice and cozy, I felt a bit sorry for the restaurant that due to low season they didn’t have enough customers. The food itself was perfect , we ordered steaks and some grilled meat - both were perfect. We even sent our compliments to the chef. Highly recommended.l and worth every cent spent!
From the moment we entered the restaurant we were made to feel welcome. Waiter explained about the different meat choices and recommended a lovely red wine to accompany our food. Lovely chilled relaxed vibe to the place and felt like we were special customers. Food was sublime. We have booked again for the Friday because we enjoyed it so much.

Great food and atmosphere in an unusual setting, plus a live band from 8.00pm! This was not our first visit to So Far and it certainly won’t be our last!
Great atmosphere and very well decorated. We enjoyed the salad with chickpea crust which was very delicious. Steak and lamb were finely cooked with nice side dish.
