Used to love this resto. These days, it’s just another Jap resto w good food but nothing unique & average waiting staff.

This was a fantastic visit to a simply iconic restaurant. If you are a first time eater of Japanese cuisine, do not go here as it will set the bar extremely high for you and all other Japanese food (particularly sashimi, sushi and nigiri) will be pale in comparison. Not to mention the EXCELLENT and tremendous service received also. If visiting, ensure to ask for Adam to look after your table, and you will not be disappointed. Would highly recommend!

Serving sizes are very small, great as you can try more dishes. Seafood was really fresh, beautifully prepared. Great service, very friendly waiter

Overall food quality is below average, sashimi is lack of freshness just wow on presentation. Everything is over rated, poor service, noisy ambience, not qualified as fine dining.

About Sokyo

In the Land of the Rising Sun When it comes to unique Japanese in Sydney, Sokyo has bragging rights. Firstly, their super-star chef Chase Kojima is a California-raised Japanese prodigy cook, who spent the better part of his young life in a kitchen. He’s cooked all over the world and settled in Sydney where he’s developed years worth of special knowledge of the local fish supply. His menu is an ultra-modern fusion of Japanese, pan-Asian and contemporary western cuisine. Sokyo also get to rub in the fact that they’re the only place in Sydney that does Japanese-inspired breakfast. For a truly unique experience, come and enjoy their miso-flavoured eggs Benedict, or their great big "sumo breakfast" featuring a marriage of sausage, edamame and roast potatoes. Mouth watering yet? They also do a la carte sushi and sashimi for lunch and dinner, a bounty of vegetarian choices, and a pre-show menu that surveys all their greats. So take a seat in their moody chic dining room and enjoy the sounds of resident DJ while you let Sokyo treat you. Best Dish: dengakuMan
