The food is delicious and of high quality. There were lots of friendly staff who were very attentive and offered great suggestions like the balmain bug tempura or the special fried rice.

Overall it was an extremely enjoyable experience! The environment was very nice. Very relaxing and calm just noisy enough such that it isn't awkwardly silent or so noisy that you cannot hear the other person. The food was really good however quite expensive. The dessert was amazing and the service was extremely good except for the first waiter whose hands were a bit shaky causing water to spill out a little. Would highly recommend everyone to come and try!

Service was very unattentive even on Tuesday night. We had to ask multiple times to make an order & ask for top up of drinks. Food as always is delicious & fresh.

Sashimi is flash, all the dishes ordered are delicious. The only problem is every dish comes very slowly except sashimi. It seemed we spend lots of time on waiting.

I have always enjoyed sokyo and have been there twice in 2 weeks. I have a waiter who came to tell me I have now finished my food and would have 20 mins to finish off my sake. I appreciate there is a time limit on the table but don’t think that’s appropriate in a fine restaurant like sokyo

About Sokyo

In the Land of the Rising Sun When it comes to unique Japanese in Sydney, Sokyo has bragging rights. Firstly, their super-star chef Chase Kojima is a California-raised Japanese prodigy cook, who spent the better part of his young life in a kitchen. He’s cooked all over the world and settled in Sydney where he’s developed years worth of special knowledge of the local fish supply. His menu is an ultra-modern fusion of Japanese, pan-Asian and contemporary western cuisine. Sokyo also get to rub in the fact that they’re the only place in Sydney that does Japanese-inspired breakfast. For a truly unique experience, come and enjoy their miso-flavoured eggs Benedict, or their great big "sumo breakfast" featuring a marriage of sausage, edamame and roast potatoes. Mouth watering yet? They also do a la carte sushi and sashimi for lunch and dinner, a bounty of vegetarian choices, and a pre-show menu that surveys all their greats. So take a seat in their moody chic dining room and enjoy the sounds of resident DJ while you let Sokyo treat you. Best Dish: dengakuMan
