Fabulous
Beautiful long lunch, service was fantastic!
Excellent food and fabulous service. Attentive staff and catered to all our needs.
We had the Sokyo dinner tasting menu, the sashimi, sushi & dessert was delicious, the others were OK. It would have been better to choose from the a la carte menu
My partner and I have been here many times for dinner over the last 7 years and had the a la carte menu which is outstanding. However, lunch today was extremely disappointing - there was only the option of a bento box and a small number of extras. We did not wish to order any of these items. The service was below par and it has diminished our overall experience of SOKYO. Don’t bother coming for lunch.
It is one of our favourite restaurants. The public holiday set menu was very comprehensive and was tailored to meet the individual needs of our friends!
Sokyo never disappoint with great food and service
Everything is fine except service was a bit disappointed. I asked for an orange juice but never got it. Had to ask for replacement cutlery after first course.
Great food great service! 10/10
Dont even think about going here...with so many other great choices around. Its a tourist trap....The takeaway Japanese in the complex is far far better. We wanted to spend up and have an enjoyable meal....All the chef wanted to do was make a profit rather than give u an honest meal....Plus the staff dont care. Be warned...Save your money for a better meal
Both my husband and me got diarrhea after dine in Sokyo this time, we specifically asked for everything cooked due to covid safety reasons, but we got serious diarrhea after meal, shouldn’t happen to a hat restaurant.
Very limited dish to choose from the list, and it is no longer a buffet breakfast, you only allow to choose one main dish from the list, my nephew was not even full after, food took for a long time to arrive as well. Very disappointed
$65 Bento had a great assortment of seafood, vegetables, and meat. Flavour was not heavily reliant on sauces, reductions, or foams - like other establishments - which I really liked. Place is busy during lunch on a weekday so it gets quite noisy.otherwise, it was overall a very good experience for us.
Every time Sokyo exceeds expectations. Food is top notch
One of my guests for this business lunch was celiac, and the wait staff gave her the incorrect bento box not once, but twice as they seems to have no idea which it was. They also provided the completely incorrect bento box for my MD, and then took ages to replace it. They forgot my drink and on realising they messed up the celiac order, they didnt offer any real solution apart from offering to call a paramedic (!). We were then left waiting for 15 mins to pay the bill in an empty restaurant. After a significant complaint we were given 50% off our meal, but I will never go there again and will advise all in Pyrmont to avoid.
We had the tasting menu and each dish was delicious.. especially the sashimi and tempura! Service was great, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice.. would definitely recommend.
Food wasn’t as good as last years breakfast when we visited. Asked for poached eggs to be medium and it was runny. Bacon over cooked. Staff weren’t friendly and didn’t seem to want to be there. Disappointed with the whole dining experience this time.
Food was delicious and very tasty. We tried several different dishes and all were spectacular . Adam our waiter was very helpful , informative and professional . He even organised special message on husbands dessert for his birthday . Will definitely return
Sokyo definitely lives up to its expectations! Amazing food, great atmosphere, great waiters and table service. Couldn't fault it at all. Would highly recommend and would go back.
Amazing food as always!
Nice light way to start the day, small serving size but choice of 2 hot drinks per person.

In the Land of the Rising Sun When it comes to unique Japanese in Sydney, Sokyo has bragging rights. Firstly, their super-star chef Chase Kojima is a California-raised Japanese prodigy cook, who spent the better part of his young life in a kitchen. He’s cooked all over the world and settled in Sydney where he’s developed years worth of special knowledge of the local fish supply. His menu is an ultra-modern fusion of Japanese, pan-Asian and contemporary western cuisine. Sokyo also get to rub in the fact that they’re the only place in Sydney that does Japanese-inspired breakfast. For a truly unique experience, come and enjoy their miso-flavoured eggs Benedict, or their great big "sumo breakfast" featuring a marriage of sausage, edamame and roast potatoes. Mouth watering yet? They also do a la carte sushi and sashimi for lunch and dinner, a bounty of vegetarian choices, and a pre-show menu that surveys all their greats. So take a seat in their moody chic dining room and enjoy the sounds of resident DJ while you let Sokyo treat you. Best Dish: dengakuMan
