Good food but they need a new restaurant manager. Valentine's dinner was a disaster. We didn't get all our dishes after 3hrs, decided to settle the bill and they willingly charged us only for one banquet.
Amazing, delicious food. Will definitely be doing back! Also, a lovely cocktail bar attached, ‘Handsome’. Service was spot on, and we had a lovely meal.
Staff were very welcoming. It was disappointing they didn’t have items on the menu such as beer on tap, cheese borek and Brussels sprouts which didn’t become known to us until 20 minutes after our order was placed. The hummus dip was nice, but unfortunately there just wasn’t a stand out dish.
Dined here during The Fork festival so value was pretty good & a really good way to try different dishes. Some dishes would have been overpriced otherwise. Expected a bit more from the mezze dip platter which was just a bit of flat bread & a smear of dip, but the Manti dumplings were delicious.
Food was good. However service was slow (restaurant wasn't even busy), they forgot the rice with the main and it took 20mins to come out after being asked and reminded... Serving size is small.
Food was pretty average. The cheese borek was served room temp, as was the kibbeh and manti beef dumplings. The babaghanoush came without pita bread and the waitress went "oh did u bread with that?" The highlight for me was the brussels sprouts, and that was really it. The fried chicken, was ok. Drinks took ages to come. Service was very miss.
Excellent food, good cocktails, very limited wine selection. Service was patchy, after a few problems got a very sincere appology from the owner. Would return.
The food was really tasty and different but the portion sizes are very small. So it’s a great place to try new things but if You are very hungry mmm think twice or be preppy to spend quite a bit.
First of all the menu is totally different to the one on the Souk website. Most of the options we were interested in where not included on the menu. Restaurant was out of lamb, so all lamb dishes couldn’t be ordered. Waited 45 mins for chicken wings because the “staff had to go to the store to buy chicken”. Food was generally underwhelming and tiny portions. Cashier initially charged me full price and only put through TheFork discount when prompted by me. Wouldn’t go back.
Lovely Middle Eastern food right here in the Melbourne CBD. Highly recommended!
This is the 2nd time I’ve been to Souk. I was fairly impressed the first time, but second time unfortunately it has changed for the worse. Ordered the dips which were $10 each and included one small triangle of bread per person and literally a tablespoon of dip. The “main” dishes themselves were extremely small and not suitable for sharing, it would have been nice if the waiter had informed us. They seem to have removed the proper “mains” from their menu as last time I recall a large chicken being available. This time it was some small 12cm plates of various veg items and then some meats (8-10 dishes total for $200). The food was delicious but the serving sizes are quite small - this place will need to sharpen up if they intend to compete with other places in Flinders lane that offer much better value for similar prices and quality. Its very loud here so don’t expect quality conversation with your party. Service was friendly but as mentioned, not very engaged.
Great food! Definitely will be visiting Souk again! Really enjoyed all the share plates we tried - including the cauliflower and lamb - great flavour!
We tried few vegetarian options. The food quality and taste were good. Cocktails were great too. Very disappointed with the service. Highly inattentive, and took after 40 minutes for our food to come.
Excellent service, food was on point as usual. The lamb ribs were spiced to perfection. And amazing atmosphere.
Great restaurant, great service & great atmosphere. Nice to go out and see a good variety of vegetarian options on the menu. Our second visit to Souk and we look forward to going back again. Thanks for a lovely evening Team Souk.
Food is nice but the servings are small so you need to order quite a few dishes. Love the vibe though!
I’ve been here a few years back. And loved everything about it. But this time going back. Beyond disappointed. The food taste like it was fried over and over and over like 10 times. I will never return to this place.
The place is great. I was there one week ago but tonight the service lacked and some of the food not as good. Salad seemed old and taste all around lacked punch.
We had the chicken wings -yum, the lamb borek - delicious, roasted cauliflower - very tasty, and the fries - crisp and great. The complimentary chickpeas were a nice touch and very very tasty. We are looking forward to going back.
Terrific food - the flavours were delicate, and most importantly, delicious. The decor is trendy and a bit industrial like a cocktail bar, but at times the music was a little loud.
