Our lovely waitress was very professional. The food was great and they have a great variety of wines and cocktails. One if our favourite dining places. We'll look forward to coming back soon.
We had a lovely quiet corner table with uninterrupted views out to the lake. The waitress and waiter were very obliging and informative. My husband ordered the fish dish and I ordered the Angus Steak which I requested to be well done. The meals arrived and before I tried the steak ate a couple of chips which were only just warm. The waiter who delivered the meals then came back to check how I had ordered the steak and I said "well done". The waiter then removed my meal as the steak which had been delivered was "blue". The waiter returned and said my meal would only be a minute. My husband started his fish as we didn't want his meal to go cold. My second meal came very quickly with a complimentary side salad and the chips were much hotter. The steak was "well done" but had a very liver-like texture and taste to it which I was unable to eat. My husband tried a piece of the steak and agreed with my verdict. We mentioned this to the first waiter who listened and sent someone, maybe the Restaurant Manager, to talk to us. We explained the situation and I was offered an alternative meal. I decided on a small Green Pea Risotto which was brought to our table after about five minutes and was far more palatable although loaded with garlic. My husband ate his fish although he said it was very ordinary and has had much better elsewhere. This was a very disappointing Valentine's Day Lunch.
All ways enjoy going there. Menu could do with changing and desserts are limited. Steak is excellent. Probably one of the nicest views from a restaurant around the lake.
Booked on-line, so easy and request for window table met. Staff very friendly and attentive and the food taste and presentation very good. Beautiful coffee. A most enjoyable outing.
We would recommend the 200 kilometers menu items - These are items available within 200 kilometers; such as beef, fish, wine etc. We had the local fish - fantastic
Fish of the day, well overcooked, dripping in oil, cold chips and the usual rabbit food salad with more stalks than actual lettuce leaf. 1 small tomato, 1 peel of something and 1 piece of capsicum. Bloody awful meal. Lamb was good. But the mushy seed stuff a bit nasty. Club members, wont ever go back here.
Air con not functioning adequately. Staff mentioned it was damaged by recent hail storm. Not sure when it will be checked out.
We had a great night out at the Yacht Club with friends. With a friendly welcome and Great service and Good food. Our table by the window had a wonderful view over the lake.. Will definitely be going back.
Beautiful view, excellent service, well prepared locally sourced meals. Clonakilla was on the wine list: a plus. Part of the Southern across club, so take advantage of the member discount!
Kim is a wonderful hostess and always makes a visit more enjoyable. The views and service at the Yacht Club always makes it a great venue to visit. We enjoy the fresh south coast fish offerings.
Excellent food beautiful surroundings and staff very attentive Knowledgeable staff who made suggestions for the wine with the main course Lovely evening out will definitely visit again soon Reasonably priced too
I was pleased with the staff, the food presentation and the service. I thought the entree menu was limited and overpriced. I like a bill to be presented at the table and then one can pay at the front counter. I did not receive an itemized bill but rather a total and this is not a good practice.
Expensive poor quality food, I'll never return,
Good and well prepared club food in a setting with a good view! A little disappointed we didn't get a window spot, but we had booked fairly late and had booked for 12:30 rather than 12 noon like a lot of the other patrons.
The Yacht Club is great. Views are lovely, service is excellent and food is fantastic. Menu is kept fairly small to enable top effort with what has been ordered. Wine list is good and not overpriced. We spent a very pleasant 3 hours there. Thanks!
The food was good and it was lovely to have a waitress that was professional and attentive without being intrusive. The service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
The SCYC restaurant is a great venue for dinner, the meals were very good, but our waitress was very inattentive. Our side dishes were forgotten and arrived half way through eating our mains. As a gesture of goodwill the bill was reduced by the cost of the sides.
This is an excellent venue with superb views of Lake Burley Griffin. We were extremely well looked after, and the standard of catering and presentation are both unifpormly outstanding. It certainly provides value of money and very professional service.
We use this restaurant a few times per year and it is a lovely place to eat. On this night there were 7 of us booked for seven pm, the food was excellent and decor and environment lovely. However on arrival we were left standing at the desk whilst the head waiter dealt with a problem with another customer. After nearly 10 minutes he then turned his back and walked away from us. A waitress came finally. We then waited at least 20 minutes when I had to wave to a waiter to get water and a menu. When we finished our main course and asked for the dessert menu we were told that the kitchen closed at nine pm and we were unable to have dessert. Considering we were not warned and the long waits, we were not happy. The waiter was polite as was the manager but nothing was done or even an offer of any compensation. This was a Saturday night a week before Christmas! Not impressed!
From the moment we walked into the club we were looked after. Could not fault the service and the food. We were there as a family for a 90th birthday for a family friend.
