Busy restaurant, food was delicious, but the wait time was a bit long. Kids meals also weren’t priority and were last to be served. Will visit again maybe at a less busier time.
Went for dinner for my birthday as over the past 3 to 4 yrs this had become our go to place when we got a night without kids. Never again will I go here the service to be fair was below average we were not checked upon no one asked if we wanted another drink or how was everything, half way through my meal I became very sick they cleared our plates while I was throwing up they should have noticed most was left including 2 and a half prawns after one bite of prawn made me sick. The garlic sauce was like someone hadn't put enough garlic or cream so raw garlic was added it was watery and not nice, we ordered vegetables that never came. When we were paying I advised that it had made me sick the waitress response was funny no one else got sick tonight, appropriate answer would have been are you ok?? Spent the rest of the night between my bed and the toilet. Will never go here again, I have emailed the restaurant with no response before adding this review.
This used to be one of our favourite places to go for birthdays or just to have a nice meal but we probably won’t go back. The side salads were wilted and not fresh, entrees were over cooked & over salted. The cheesecake which used to be the best is now the worst I’ve tasted. The waitress who placed our order was great but another one who cleared was not. We thought we would give it a second chance but we had another disappointing experience.
The idea of cooking your own steak on a hot volcanic rock was what drew us to the restaurant. As chefs we did a great job, but the quality of the meat definitely contributed as well! The staff were excellent...very friendly and attentive. Would definitely return again if we were to stay in Nowra.
Something a bit different with cooking your meal on hot stone to suit your taste. No one to blame if your steak is over or under cooked other than yourself of course. Had the fillet steak which was very tender with chips and salad.
Best Filet Mignon I have ever had. All four of us had a filet mignon and all agreed it was great. Wine price was more than reasonable. Friendly helpful staff
Management has a policy of no split bill with no flexibility for a small group of four to split 2 ways. Found this a bit offensive. Refused to allow meal choice of chips instead of potato with veges even though available with salad. We enjoyed the hot rock experience.
Good service, value for ($)
Absolutely amazing food , the pork belly entree was to die for . I had a Midori Splice cocktail and it was incredible . Service was amazing , just like every time I’ve been there . The peanut butter ice cream was probably the best ice cream I’ve ever had. My partner and I will definitely be going back together. Really happy overall x
Stone grill was a memorable experience. Food was good, service even better. The only downside was the inability to mix and match the compliments - apparently the chef insists one must have either chips & salad or mash & veg; not any other combination! He must be related to Basil Fawlty.
Lovely restaurant Friendly staff, excellent food, prompt service, very reasonable prices, definitely recommend this establishment, very enjoyable evening
Over a 80 minute wait for food and the restaurant was barely packed. Our food tasted like it was rushed some bits of the chicken wasn’t cooked. The waitress had bad hygiene and literally put me off my food.
The staff were excellent and the food was unbelievable. My partner said that his sirloin was the best that he has ever had. Ambience was great and we would definitely recommend it
$48 set menu was great value. Food was excellent and friendly service.
Fantastic food and very attentive and friendly staff
Food was amazing. Great portions. Staff were prompt with bringing meals out. We had the $48 set menu, very good value. Highly recommend going if your in the town.
Service was good but our table was too close to other patrons. It was noisy and difficult to hear conversation, we had the steaks cooked by the kitchen and I do recommend it. All three steaks had been over cooked severely, one steak should have been medium rare and instead was really well done. The pork belly was poorly flavoured but the garlic prawns where really nice for the 4 prawns provided.
We had a wonderful evening. On arrival the Manager was so so lovely and friendly just set the mood for us for a lovely time. All staff were smiling and very attentive and 100% percent on the ball with service. The food is always great there. We used to go there a lot until the Corona hit but now back to normal times we will look forward to our next night out there. Thankyou .
We stayed overnight at the Parkhaven Resort in Nowra and, as advertised that they had a restaurant, we also booked the Southern Stones Bar & Grill. I'm so glad we did as the people there were so friendly and genuine. The service was fantastic; the food was excellent. We did the 3 Course Meal option, which was great value for money. Loved the steak cooked on the Stone Grill at your table. The entree, main and dessert was fantastic. Good selection of wines. We will definitely stay at the Pakhaven again and definitely will be back to Southern Stones Bar & Grill.
Southern Stones Bar and Grill was a delight to be there. The food is great and the service was great too. I will be coming back again because its so good.
