We booked a table for 10 people at Spice Heaven on Sat at 8pm. To our surprise the entire restaurant was empty and only one couple besides us. We order our food with entrees like tangdi kebeb, mutton tikka name a few. As we were 8 non vegetarians we asked the server for the quantity in each dish. She informed us that we would get 4 pieces in each entrees and hence we order for 2 plates of the entrees. To out price there were only 3 pieces of tangdi kebab in each plate and hence when we asked about the same we were informed that because of the size there would be only 3 pieces. We then ordered one more plate but the server ignored the instructions and later place the order when we needed to wait another 20 mins more for the entrees to finish up. The main course order was correct this time and it didnt take too long for it to arrive. The order was for prawns vindaloo, chekf special chicken, goat curry, mushroom matter paneer etc. We found out that were was food color or something put in the prawns vindaloo and tangdi kebab which made is look dark red and some of the color was lingering in our fingers even after the dinner. Also there was a lot of chilli flakes used instead of chili powder and other spices which doesn't takes good. Overall as an Indian who has dined in many Indian restaurants in Adelaide this was not a pleasant experience at all
Nice setting, food & service was good.
Delicious-cheese naan was superb
We asked for water and upon paying realised we were charged $5.50 for water! It was a little shocking! I guessed if they told us upfront, it wouldn’t have been as bad. Felt cheated.
Best food and even better service!!! It a must try!
Unfriendly staff, keep on forcing us to buy drink, which we refused and she was behaving like we did a crime. Aloo tikki tasted frozen & hard. Chicken vindaloo was only tomato gravy with no taste. Naan was only good. Presentation was not good. Will never go back again. Really disappointed.
Went to Spice Heaven based on reviews on Fork and was not disappointed especially with the 50% off food. Food was fresh and tasty, service excellent, wines although small choice were good. We would eat here again even without the discount.
Staff were welcoming, attentive & friendly. Food was delicious & great value!! I'd highly recommend if you're looking for yummy authentic Indian.
