Meet the Chef

A country boy from Berowra, Andy Evans begun his apprenticeship at Rockpool Sydney at 19. He went from toasting sarnies at Asquith Golf Club in Mt Colah, to working alongside luminary Neil Perry and other respected names in the industry. Evans chalked up nine years with the Rockpool team, crediting his compatriots with embedding a fierce respect for exceptional produce, innovation and creativity that continues within the Rockpool premium restaurant stable today.

MENU CHINESE NEW YEAR Banquet Menu 99AUD

Available lunch and dinner from Monday January 20 to Sunday February 9. Minimum 2 guests required to dine from this menu. Optional matching wines available for an additional $55 per person. All credit card payments will incur a 1.5% processing fee. All debit cards incur a processing fee of 0.5% - 1.0%. ‘Tap and Go’ incurs debit/credit card fee. All EFTPOS no charge. A 10% surcharge applies on Sunday. A 15% surcharge applies on all public holidays. For tables of 10 or more guests, your bill will include a recommended service charge of 10%. This service charge is at your discretion. Patrons with food allergies or dietary requirements, please inform your waiter prior to ordering. Although we will endeavor to accommodate your dietary needs, we cannot be held responsible for traces of allergens. Drinks not included. Available on the booked timeslot.

    Our 2nd time at the Spice Temple, we went for the banquet menu. Tons of food. All delicious. We were taken care of in all aspects of the meal and service. Delightful! Highly recommended.

    Beautiful food overall, but some are way too fusion and lost the basic taste like the kunpow chicken. Some staff are nice, but the whole place is way too dark and only one female toilet cubicle. Will go back.

    Been here before several times but this time I felt things weren't as good. We booked and it wasn't busy but we got pushed along to order. Our entree arrived well before our cocktails. One member was coeliac and didn't get sick so would highly recommend on that front. Had to avoid chocolates with the bill because not advised about that. Overall would return for the food but not the most relaxing dinner I've had

    The pork hock was too salty and not as tender as I'd expect for this style (the skin was delicious though). The stir fried prawn with "salted duck egg" did not have the expected salted egg texture, or taste. The table next to us had a finished plate sitting for 30 mins before it was taken away. An attempt at Chinese food that landed close but not quite on target; nor was there enough of a twist to make it seem intentional. Loved the final petit four, interestingly the only intentionally western item we had that night.

    Love Spice Temple. This was our 4th year visiting while in Sydney. Nick welcomed us with “it must be that time of year? which was amazing. How nice. Food is always great. Quality of food is top notch. Service is attentive. Atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Highly recommend one make reservation. This place even books up on Sunday evenings. Can’t wait to return.

    Loved the venue and atmosphere. The food was plentiful and tasty. Only the waiter had a bit of an attitude and could have been more relaxed/cheerful. Will be back for more!

    Through the intriguingly hard-to-find entrance to the understated lighting and dusky fit-out, Spice Temple draws you in with promise of something mysterious and then delivers. Gently. Our highlights ... chicken and black fungus, XO sauce pippies, and stir fried spanner crab with mung bean noodles and garlic chives. And then the Chinese calendar zodiac sign inspired cocktails ... we tried, and enjoyed, Rat, Horse, Monkey and Rooster!

    So many gluten free options! All surprised delicious. Very flavoursome. The chili prawns were extremely spicy but delicious if you live chilli. The beef was and inf. Great service and atmosphere
