Genuine and authentic tasting indian food with friendly and attentive staff. The Fish Koliwadda as an entrée was something new and different with an interesting blend of spices.

Spices 29 really is an Indian Pearl on the Central Coast. A modern restaurant it has tasteful décor enhanced by the framed photos and murals by a renown Goan Cartoonist. The food is delicious and every dish has a completely different taste. The waitresses are honest in their guidance re spicy heat which I appreciated as I enjoy the heat of spicy curry and too often I have been disappointed in a restaurant when something that is supposed to be hot is really quite mild . For the entres the Fish Kollwadda is a winner along with the onion Bhajia. For mains the lamb Chennai was was superb along with the Goan goat curry and Lamb Kofta. It is special when the owner and chef, Nelson, leaves the kitchen when he gets a moment to chat to diners. Service was excellent and meals reasonably priced. We dis intend to have a splurge to try different dishes but along with Naan breads and pickles and chutneys plus corkage the price averaged $30 per person. One could easily have an ample and delicious meal for $20 per person. Having said all that I have no hesitation in I have no hesitation in rating Spices 29 the best Indian restaurant on the Central Coast we have visited.
