Can I get the spoon please? Bill, I mean. Spoonbill restaurant and bar is a unique Aussie gem that fits right in to the fancy Chapel Street milieu. Spoonbill is about cool concepts and intriguing innovations along with scrumptious Aussie tucker. And it's very arty. Inspired by home-grown artist John Olsen and designed by the famous Grant Amon Architects, you'll never have guessed that the stunning interior comprises of used materials. The bar glows white and the dining area is moodily lit by hanging lamps and incredible wicker constructions. Amazing right? And we haven't even told you about the menu yet! At Spoonbill, you won't have a single uninformed bite. That's right, the seasonal menu specifies where your food came from and why it's great. They do modern Australian favourites like braised pork belly and seared duck breast, the usual Italian tenants like spaghetti and risotto, flavourful numbers to share like ribs, oysters and paella, as well as really nice burgers, sandwiches and fries. You've really gotta eat this place – oops! - see this place. Best dish: Olsen's famous paella – a recipe devised by the artist himself
