A group of 4 of us come to the Scarf dinners every 3 months to allow the new trainees hone their new hospitality skills - to catch up & enjoy a good meal. For $45 for a 2 course meal - you can’t get much better value and we get to try out a new venue each time. Garden State has been one of our favourites so far. I had the mushroom & truffle pasta which was especially delicious - the mushrooms were perfect with the right amount of truffle oil. The other girls loves their salmon & steak (which was cooked perfectly medium rare). Considering it was a sell out & how busy it was - the meals were spot on. Might have needed a couple of extra staff for all the guests - but that’s what Scarf is all about - learning in a busy environment. As always - we will be back again. ????
Food was great and staff so keen to serve. Delicious and delightful
We love the concept of SCARF supporting disadvantaged and refugees in obtaining employment in the hospitality area.
the food was delicious
The good was absolutely amazing! I was with a group of 6 and everyone was very pleased. Nice wine options also.

A great night out for dinner that supports training up young people seeking protection, and those from refugee and migrant backgrounds who face significant barriers gaining employment.
We dined at the Scarf Dinner & sampled all the goodies on offer. I particularly enjoyed the beef cutlet was more a pulled beef Pattie with a spicy sauce - perfectly cooked & right amount of spice. I also had the chicken which was Yummy! I really enjoyed the cabbage accompaniments & the lite & crunchy papadums. The dal & the mussel curry also were really delicious as well. The only thing that we found a little uncomfortable was the low lighting and the warm temperature - during winter it would be perfect but after a warm day it was simply just a little warm - but not unbearable. Would definitely return to The Rochester for another meal
It was a nice old pub.
It was our third Scarf dinner but first time at Higher Ground. It's always a great night with lovely food. This venue is lovely and will definitely be back!
Great experience and idea
Delicious food!
Supporting a great cause
Food was excellent, drinks list not expansive but quality. It was a really nice vibe.
Great food good night very nice people
Was great to support a wonderful organisation like Scarf.
We love the Scarf dinners. Its a great way to support a great cause & help new trainees hone their skills - while being able to try new venues & menu's. We enjoy having a quarterly gathering for our group of 4 that gives us something to look forward to every few months :) Keep up the great work
These dinners are to support refugees and migrants in gaining hospitality experience, and so the service was a bit shambolic, but friendly and well intended. I expect the experience would be quite different every time as a result. Lovely location for it.
Fabulous meal and great cause!
It was a lovely evening supporting Scarf! Such a great initiative and a fantastic night with friends.
