9/10A group of 4 of us come to the Scarf dinners every 3 months to allow the new trainees hone their new hospitality skills - to catch up & enjoy a good meal. For $45 for a 2 course meal - you can’t get much better value and we get to try out a new venue each time. Garden State has been one of our favourites so far. I had the mushroom & truffle pasta which was especially delicious - the mushrooms were perfect with the right amount of truffle oil. The other girls loves their salmon & steak (which was cooked perfectly medium rare). Considering it was a sell out & how busy it was - the meals were spot on. Might have needed a couple of extra staff for all the guests - but that’s what Scarf is all about - learning in a busy environment. As always - we will be back again. ????

8.3/10We dined at the Scarf Dinner & sampled all the goodies on offer. I particularly enjoyed the beef cutlet was more a pulled beef Pattie with a spicy sauce - perfectly cooked & right amount of spice. I also had the chicken which was Yummy! I really enjoyed the cabbage accompaniments & the lite & crunchy papadums. The dal & the mussel curry also were really delicious as well. The only thing that we found a little uncomfortable was the low lighting and the warm temperature - during winter it would be perfect but after a warm day it was simply just a little warm - but not unbearable. Would definitely return to The Rochester for another meal

8.8/10We love the Scarf dinners. Its a great way to support a great cause & help new trainees hone their skills - while being able to try new venues & menu's. We enjoy having a quarterly gathering for our group of 4 that gives us something to look forward to every few months :) Keep up the great work

8.8/10The SCARF trainees were very capable. They were still learning, but our table was very well looked after. The food and drinks offered were great, and the additional dishes that could be purchased were well-priced.

8.3/10This is our 8th visit to the Scarf dinners - it's a great way to try different restaurants and to let new hospitality staff try out their newly acquired skills on diners who are happy to catch up over a meal & not be too stressed if the service needs a tweak here and there - that's what the whole reason of Scarf is about ????

7/10Great staff and excellent food, although the shared main fish dish was on the small side. It was meant to be for two people, but the small sized snapper made it suitable only for one. My partner had to stop and grab a take-away burger on the way home.

7.5/10The Scarf meals are great because they are supporting people with hospitality experience, that needs to be taken into account as there were some errors and unusual service behaviours, but that's all part of the learning. Get on board and support a good cause and enjoy some lovely food at great venues.

7.5/10Really love the Scarf Experience, seeing the mentors and trainees working together and having the Scarf Story on the menus to read and the cards introducing and giving a little 'backstory' for all of the trainees. Just a wonderful enterprise that everyone should book in for.

8/10We really enjoy the Scarf evenings and try to go to each new one - they give us the opportunity to try new and different venues while also giving new hospitality staff the opportunity to test their new skills. We had the croquettes ( crisp on the outside & lite & fluffy on the inside ) delicious and I had the pork cutlet that was cooked to perfection as too were the potato bravas - we look forward to the next installation of Scarf where ever it may be ????
