Service was very slow. Had to ask twice for the bill. The acoustics in the restaurant need to be addressed. Couldn’t hear the person next to me at our table.
We ordered the $88 pp banquet for 4 people, seated in the upstairs dining room. The food, although tasty, didn’t quite make sense. It was a mix of Japanese, western, and Chinese food. The servings were small and at times, difficult to share. For example, there were 4 people, yet we were presented with 7 dumplings. Dessert consisted of 4 egg tarts but also a small plate of ice cream with fruit which was difficult to share between 4 people. Individual servings would’ve been much better. On more than 1 occasion, a second identical dish was brought to the table, only for them to realise we had one already, so promptly taken back to the kitchen. The sommelier came to give us great advice on a bottle of wine, but when it was finished, we asked for the wine menu again, which must’ve been forgotten about, as we had to ask a second time. The room was far too noisy, the music turned up too loud, so we had to shout to be heard. Maybe the sommelier couldn’t hear me properly? Would recommend sitting downstairs and outside where we had a drink before being seated at our table. We had normal volume conversation there. Overall, a good location but a disappointing and overpriced menu. For the money, I would’ve expected to walk out of there full, but I was more content than full. I’m sorry but based on that experience, I wouldn’t go back again.
Lobster noodle was really nice and so was the other food. The only downside is that it was just way too hot to sit outside without air conditioning nor fan.
A great venue with very attentive staff.
We were disappointed as we arrived early for our booking and were offered to sit for drinks. Nobody came to take an order. When they eventually did when I asked, the drinks then didn’t arrive again. Food was slow to arrive and then the food was of an average standard. We were also seated in a side bar area - highly trafficked and nowhere near the restaurant. Disappointing.
Delicious food, drinks and service the only minor critique was that we received the meat dishes about 15 minutes before the fried rice. The staff were appropriately attentive and friendly
Gorgeous venue with lovely ambience. Team were friendly and the food was delicious! We are both so full. Dim sum platter was good and the desserts were amazing!
Expensive but delicious
Stanley has a beautiful location and setting and is in a lovely old building, but unfortunately the meals we had would best be described as pedestrian for the price. Competition in this market space is very tough, and food wise Stanley isn't quite there yet. The staff were all eager to please, but many are obviously still being trained as there were rookie mistakes for most of our meal service which was frustrating. We'll try again in a few months, and hopefully it will have found itself by then.
What a great restaurant! The food was delicious, ambiance was on point and the service was fantastic. We had a great night out and will definitely be returning.
Overall very good experience and would definitely come back again
Only recommendation is to have dim sum as a separate selection.
Glorified and expensive Chinese takeaway. Service was horrendous and will not be going back.
