Thank you for accomodating us at such short notice for Mitchell's birthday. Loved the night. Music was fabulous as usual and atmosphere great. Jacqueline.
This is a really cute, family run restaurant. The atmosphere is brilliant and they were great at helping us order for a variety of guests with different needs. Would definitely recommend.
Great seafood mezes, Greek hospitality, very well priced and great live Greek music. Centrally located, great vibe. What more could you want?
Dinner was great we felt like we were in Greece! Relaxed ambience and great service. Good was simple but good, and the bottles of wine so reasonably priced! We’ll be back!
Even during the restrictions, the atmosphere was great. The music livened up the venue and the food was amazing. Will definitely be back when restrictions are relaxed.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Loved the live Greek music!! Felt as though we had escaped the craziness of the world around us right now and traveled to an island in Greece. Will be back with a bigger group next time when restrictions lift!!
Great service and atmosphere. Delicious food and good portions as well. Felt like an authentic Greek experience. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back
Like being in a genuine taverna in Greece. From the music streaming live on Greek internet radio, to classic tasty fresh dishes and simple but homely wine glasses and bread/ dips. Excellent night next time we will stay for the band
Delicious food. Great service and good value. Perfect in every way. Very fortunate to get a table in COVID times. Highly recommended. But book ahead given current COVID limits.
Always great authentic Greek food in a charming established family run Greek taverna. Love the lamb, spanakopita, moussaka, Greek wine. Music on weekends. Transports you to Greece.
It was a gathering for my birthday and Christmas at 49.90each Per head the quantity of the food was appalling. A friend had to request the 2 additional items as they had been missed. even then for 16 people there was food for about 7 of us adults and well let's not mention the wine the minute you asked for that is out in a flash. I would not recommend this venue at all for groups very disapointing and ripped of. There is another place in peters witch has ample of food and reasonably priced.
Good food, service and quite relaxed
Awesome authentic Taverna
Room was smallish and tables squashed in. Our group of 11 were jammed right next to toilets and bar & it was really noisy which was a pity as it was my birthday. Was a bit like going back in time with the decor, plastic cloths, mismatched chairs. Food was pretty good and great value & greek band were good except we had sadly no room to dance.
Was such a great place. Atmosphere was awesome and food was delicious. I should have booked later as the music started at 9!
I think servings little small for 4 people compared to another Greek plz e I have been before maybe should include a dessert in banquet . The service was amazing - ladies were very helpful , efficient and happy to assist - great friendly environment with dancing for everyone if you wanted to join in
The food, the staff, the live music, the Greek dancing... if you leave Steki unhappy then there’s something wrong with you. The lamb is faultless, the octopus perfection. Hands-down the best Greek restaurant in Sydney.
Great to come back after so many years!
Tables extremely close together so if you don’t enjoy communal feel might not be the best choice
group of 12xand it was great a little loud when the music started …. otherwise great night

Put on your dancing shoes and get em' to the Greek!
Welcome to Steki Taverna one of Sydney’s best known Greek restaurants hidden in the back streets of Newtown. This old devil has been around for 30 years and in that time it has established itself as an inner-west landmark. Steki means a 'hangout' or 'meeting place' - and the welcoming staff and the warm, casual atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Come here for the delicious traditional Greek food and the wild live music. Diners are welcome to dance and enjoy to the early hours on Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. Secluded in a little lane-way off busy King Street, you will feel like you're are in a little taverna in the heart of Athens. For a winning dish try the baked/bbq lamb – slow baked lamb with onion, and bay leaves, then lightly barbequed and basted with lemon and olive oil. So bring your friends and family to this great Greek getaway. You won’t be disappointed.
Best Dish: Keftedes – beef mince , pan fried topped with tomato based sauce and fetta cheese
