We went to Suq for a birthday celebration and absolutely loved it. The portion sizes were good for two people - three dishes and a salad was more than enough. Service was attentive without being stifling.

Excellent service very friendly professional staff food was good with an interesting menu only issue was that the servings were quite small considering the price of the food

I have been to this restaurant quite a number of times now. It began as our favourite - my husband and I were so glad to find somewhere we could dine frequently and enjoy top quality food. I can't explain what the difference is - the food sort of suddenly seems to lack heart and love. This might be because it's the same food over and over again, and it may be because they cannot seem to keep the same staff - every time you go there are new people there. There is also a distinct lack of freshness now - possibly too much pre- preparing of food. I don't feel the positive energy in the place that I used to feel and I think it is translating into dishes which taste OK but fail to shine. It would be great to see smiling and happy faces from everyone, including the chef. It would be good to see well trained staff who love their jobs. On a side note, this restaurant is no longer BYO. Again I am OK with this, but if you are going to refuse to allow people to bring their own wine, the selection you have must be a good one - and the selection at SUQ is less than impressive. I have significantly better wines in my own wine fridge and would appreciate the opportunity to bring them with me - good food is made better with a good wine pairing and when the choice is limited to some low quality wines it's disappointing. Finally, if you want to be fine dining - don't use wine glasses that you get at the RSL. I cannot believe that proper red wine glasses are not being used and this reflects the lack of care and attention. Please, head down to Home in Erina and pick up a couple of boxes of proper red wine glasses. I got a lovely box of 6 for only $25 - spend just $200 and you'll have 48 lovely large, fine glass wine glasses which may just make your cheap wine taste better.

We are lucky to have SUQ in the neighbourhood. Share plates is a great way to eat and the food never disappoints.
