Finally made it here after 14 years of living in Leichhardt. Sorry we left it so long! Really enjoyed our dinner here. Standouts where the paneer starter and the vindaloo main. Service was a bit slow - they were busy - but we weren’t in a hurry so all good. Loved the cricket theme as well (all the photos had the owner in them, which helped us spot him at a nearby table). We will be back.

Delicious authentic Indian food. The banquet is outstanding value. BYO for wine which is also good. Service is prompt, friendly and attentive.

Surjit's has been an institution for decades in this location. A cricket & hockey tragic, a visit to this fine Indian restaurant is warranted, not only for the excellent food, but to see all his sporting memorabilia.

This is our local and most favourite Indian restaurant we like to treat ourselves to and introduce friends. The food is always great, however because it was very busy last night, the service wasn't as good as usual.

We booked in the fork and received an email confirmation only to arrive with 9 people on a Saturday including young children to be told they are not on the fork and can not accommodate us ( however we used the fork two weeks prior and somehow got two tables ! ) great standing on a cold parramatta road and taxi back home to Balmain - No explanation from surjit - not happy and won’t bother trying again - head to the spice room at circular quay it’s better The fork and/or surjit need to sort this out

About Surjits Indian Annandale

Traditional, Tasty and Cheap A veteran of Parramatta Road, this cosy little restaurant gets consistently good reviews from both long-standing customers and one-time patrons. The warming interior will bring you sweet relief from the noise and bustle outside. It all started 28 years ago when Surjit and his family brought their unique style of cuisine to the Sydney restaurant scene. The food is steeped in tradition, based on the ancient Mughlai style which originated centuries ago, when India fed its Persian kings. Despite the glamour of the cuisine, it’s extremely affordable for students and professionals alike. Pop in for a luncheon during your break or get comfy here in the evening for an Indian feast. The warm hospitality of the staff will make anyone feel at home. Recommendations from the kitchen include the oh-so- scrumptious lamb shanks and the king prawns steeped in flavoursome curry. And like so many Indian restaurants, their vegetarian courses are as delicious as their meats, so vegos: you won’t find yourself frowning at the menu! For an extra special treat, Surjit’s does a unique dessert dish, a cherry and pistachio ice-cream known as kulfi. For fantastic curry at a great price, wonderful service and a peaceful vibe, come on over to Surjit’s. Best Dish: jhinga malabari
