About Swanson Hotel

Pub grub, but not as you know it. Formerly the slightly rough-around-the-edges Kurrajong, the Swanson Hotel in Erskineville has been transformed into one of the new breed of gastro pubs taking Sydney’s inner suburbs by storm. Overlooking Harry Noble Park, the upstairs dining room is under the watchful management of award-winning chef Brad Sloane, best known for his transformation of the Riverview Hotel in Balmain. Able to seat 80 people comfortably, it also houses a cocktail bar and a private function room. The menu instantly betrays Sloane’s fine dining background with dishes such as Tasmanian salmon with burnt butter, celeriac puree, black barley, orange & fennel sitting alongside the scotch fillet. Downstairs is a more casual affair with booth seating and a stripped down bar menu that includes schnitzel and burger options. It’s still fancy, but just not quite as formal. Perfect for a Sunday lunch. Best Dish: Ravioli of Italian Cheeses, New Seasons Greens, Pesto, Pumpkin & Pecorino
