This is the first time I have been to the Tandoori Den. Very authentic Indian cuisine, loved it and will be back!

The entrees: chicken 65 and Samosa chaat was yummy. But then tandoori mushrooms were so dry and not marinated well, just colored. The buttermilk was too salty. Had to allow salt to settle and then have it. With Aloo Gobi, the pieces of the veggies were huge. Not appealing. We expected and we requested Tawa chilli chicken to be medium spicy, but it was extremely mild. That was a disaster,as we were looking forward eagerly to our mains. Didn't relish it, didn't like it at all. The garlic naan didn't come easy and was hard to get a bite of it. There was almost no butter on the butter naan. We didn't even enjoy the cachumber salad. Lastly, we ordered two masala chai and lucky to end on a good note. We were thankful that we finished (not satisfied and still hungry) our meals. I could not point out to the staff because I had taken out my professor out for dinner and did not want to create a scene, when in her company. I shall have to think about if I would be returning.

We love this restaurant and keep coming back. We are so grateful that the owner was able to organise a different dish for our elderly mother who does not eat spicey food.

Busy place, full of families celebrating birthdays. Tasty food. You can ask for extra hot if you like it spicy.

Great food, service slow as was a busy night with wedding upstairs and election night as well. they were turning people away as restaurant was full to the max. But we enjoyed it as usual.

About Tandoori Den

Feeling Spicy? Tandoori Den isn’t the new kid on the block. It’s been around in Camberwell since 1981 – and for good reason. On any given night, you’re likely to see romantic dates, family celebrations and groups of friends gathered at Tandoori Den for some punchy, heat-inducing Indian food. This is a great destination with plenty of mouth-watering options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Start with the classic vegetable samosas, onion bhaji or some paneer tikka. There are heaps of meat appetizers too, including a mixed tandoori plate. When it comes to the main event, take your pick between delectable vegetarian dishes or chicken, lamb, beef or seafood. The chicken jal frazi is popular with locals. Or dive in to the pumpkin masala, which features butternut pumpkin tempered with five spices and cooked with masala sauce. There are heaps of options for Tandoori breads too, including a chocolate naan for dessert … or anytime! Best dish: Chicken vindaloo
