excellent value good food and service have been there many times and will continue to dine there
The restaurant was busy on a Sunday night, which was a good sign ! Warm hospitality, the owner/ manager was really on top of things despite a busy service. We ordered the Mix Tandoori Grill which was delicious and full of spice, highly recommended. We loved the Garlic & Cheese Naan too; definitely a winner. Highly recommended if you'd like a relaxed dinner
Good food & great service
Wonderful place for authentic Indian food
Great service and food as always thanks Simon and the team!!
The Tandoori Palace is a quiet restaurant despite the busy road outside. Food, service and ambience could not be faulted in any way. Price was great. Music was unobtrusive and nice.
Great food and good service
The restaurant was fabulous ! Food was incredible and very tasty! The staff were so kind and very friendly. I have already recommended to my family members to visit. Thanks for such a great night.
Thanks again for a fabulous dinner! The food was outstanding, the service was great, the atmosphere was relaxing and we had a lovely time! Simply the best Indian food in Sydney!
We had the restaurant to ourselves early on a Tuesday evening. The food and service was fine. Only disappointment was the $4 per person corkage charge when the bill arrived - a surprise and a bit rich for a single bottle of wine split among 4 people. We will read the fine print on the menu more carefully next time.
We love going to Tandoori Palace as it is very close to our home. The food is always good and the staff are very welcoming. In particular, the mixed meat entree grill is lovely and the peshwari naan is amazing!
Great food and very kind service, will definitely be returning
Delicious food as always
Excellent as usual!!! Great welcome and service, the owner and waitress are always so nice with a big smile and great quality food. Thanks so much
The manager was lovely and accommodating even though we had messed up the booking in the modification process. The food came out promptly and was so delicious that we ordered more. We were completely stuffed by the end. Great value - definitely recommend giving it a go!
Nicer than the photos show. Great value good for a family feast. Goat was succulent as was the lamb. Will go again when in the area. Service very attentative
Good and hospitable service. Nice curry, naan and rice. Been there a few times. They did mix up and naan types and my friend ate a wrong naan he didn’t order. Serving was a little smaller than before maybe cos we are on 50% in the naan and was a little embarrassed when my friend pointed it out. Waiter also gave us the wrong bill and we split the costs before cashier told us the bill wasn’t ours. One point to note is they should tell us which dishes is which (we ordered 8 curry dishes). To be honest for full price the servings for curry and appetizers can be larger. For half price it’s good value.
We ordered 4 curries and were disappointed with all four dishes. None of them had much taste and the meat inside was dry and tasted old. The naans and papadums we ordered with the 4 curries were ok. Service was a little cunning and the staff were trained to make a buck out of you - Because the food was so tasteless we decided to do a takeaway and make alterations to them at home. The manager came over and said he will give us plastic takeaway containers and we can pack what we want. He suggested we use 5 takeaway containers however we opted for 2 to be environmentally conscious. I was totally shocked that the bill had an extra charge of $2 - a charge of $1 per takeaway container! So he wanted to make an extra $5 out of us without even telling us that he was going to charge for the containers! Sneaky container tax. We paid cash with a large bill and the waitress even asked whether we wanted our change back! Even after the 50% discount we were unsatisfied with our whole experience and were left feeling cheated and vulnerable.
We had a big group of 7 on a Tuesday night and the host of the restaurant was extremely welcoming and friendly from the moment we entered the door. The service from the beginning to the end was fantastic! The food was also absolutely delicious and serving sizes were perfect. We asked for extremely spicy beef vindaloo, however, it came out to be very sweet. We informed the host and without any issues he came back with exactly what we wanted. That is what I call great customer experience. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to those considering!
Great food, friendly staff and reasonably priced
86 Oxford Street, 2010, Darlinghurst (NSW), Australia, RestaurantAddress
Oxford Street regulars will no doubt be familiar with this longstanding eatery, which has been serving Darlo locals for well over a decade.
A change in ownership and a flashy face-lift, however, has seen Tandoori Palace emerge as a mere shadow of its former self.
Today, this venue fits snugly into Oxford Street’s vibrant scene, offering delicious Indian fare with a delightful difference. Each dish is chosen to give diners an innovate taste of India, unlike anything experienced at Sydney’s other curry houses.
Those looking for a few laughs with their curry should head downstairs where karaoke and a dance floor await.
