Complimentary poppadoms. We had the chicken doh piazza, lentil lamb curry, rice and a paratha, which was a good mix of dishes and enough for two of us.

Cracking local Indian restaurant and if you've ever eaten good Indian in the UK, this one is right in the mix. Best Indian curries I've had in Melbourne.

We had a pleasant meal at this restaurant. The food was very nice - we had vegan/vegetarian food. The service was attentive without being overbearing.

The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had a nice dining experience. The food portions have gotten smaller but it all still tastes fantastic.

The restaurant is warm, friendly and welcoming. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. We had the range of meals - Bhuna Gosht, Goat Masala and Chicken Jailfraizi and a lightly pan tossed paneer dish. The sauces were of good consistency, golden brown, the ingredients were discernible to our tongue and the rice and accompanying roti fragrant. I will definitely go back again and recommend this lace t gal our friends and family. The wait staff were extremely caring, asking after meal, serving us all our extra requests, all with a smile and quickly, they went out of their way to ensure we had a fabulous evening. What a find! Congratulations TT.

Great service, tasty food, beef was a bit tough, however very good value. We had the restaurant to ourselves for Sunday lunch, so not much atmosphere, however it could be different at night.

About the restaurant

Schedule room for this inner-westie treasure Tandoori Times is located near the buzzing cross-roads of Anderson and Ballarat Streets in Melbourne’s trendy inner-westie suburb of Yarraville. Offering great quality food,Tandoori Times has an interesting and extensive menu with many dishes not normally seen at your average Indian restaurant. You’ll want to try the restaurant’s signature dish, the tongue twisting ‘Tandoori Times tava’, which comes highly recommended. Part cooking your selection of vegies, paneer, lamb, beef, chicken, fish or prawns in the tandoor, it is then finished on a tava (an Indian grill) and served sizzling at your selected spice level of mild, medium or hot. For those looking for a challenge (and not on a first date), give the Indo Nepalese chilli garlic curry a go or the Bombay´s bhayankar bakra. You’ll want to be completely sure you’re up for this lamb curry – is it HOT! And I mean, really HOT. If you can manage this one, the owners of Tandoori Times will recommend you for Indian citizenship! For those of you less inclined to thrill seeking, try the gorgeously aromatic firdausi korma, a delightful concoction of a very mild and fragrant sauce comprising of crushed nuts, cream and cardamom with your choice of meat, vegetables or seafood. Namastey – book yourself at Tandoori Times today! Best dish: amritsari machchi – flipping fantastic fried fish
