Good value, fresh food
The food was good. The restaurant pics are quite misleading as it doesn't really look like that at all, its a very basic casual sushi train kind of place. Looks more upmarket and nice in the pics than in real life. But food was good, and service was fine.
Greeted pleasantly and offered a choice of tables. Menu choice was standard for sushi train restaurant but plenty to choose from. We ordered menu items and not off the train and dishes were delivered timely. Empty plates were not taken away when additional dishes brought to the table which was disappointing. Rice was very sticky in the Maki rolls but other than that, food was reasonable.
Food was great and plenty of it. Price was reasonable. However, just be aware for the “all you can eat”- you need to eat all of it! They will charge you extra if you do not finish the meal. I appreciate they are wanting to minimise waste; but a bit cheeky.
Theres all you can eat for $30 in hr, not a bad deal. Heaps of choice from the menu and everything was very yummy!
Perfect for an evening sushi train
Wonderful meal great service
My favourite sushi spot in Surry Hills! Salmon and scallop ship is absolutely delicious! Dining there at least once a week!
Definitely a place for a quick and easy lunch
The restaurant is smaller than I expected and is too far away from Central Station
Had a sushi train and ala carte to choose from. Generous servings, would go back but order a few different dishes.
Nice local Japanese restaurant at Surry Hills, but sushi piece is a bit small though.
Great value with the discount!
Great little place and food
Fantastic place for a quick and delicious feast!
Fantastic place for quick and delicious dinner! Ramen - super big portions and very tasty
Hand rolls were wonderful, sushi from the train was OK. At 40% off we enjoyed a great meal.
A small sushi train with some standalone tables around it, this place was woefully understaffed the night we attended. The kitchen had three people working - which was fine, but the whole restaurant was being managed by one server. Due to this, we had to wait quite a while to order food/ drinks off the menu, and could see others were waiting to be seated/pay and leave. The sushi train had few options in rotation, so you had to rely heavily on ordering off the menu - this would not have been an issue had service been quick, but that was not the case.
Great neighbourhood Japanese
Food was decent for a cheap eat. Sushi not overly special but the vegetable tempura was very well crumbed. Overall a decent cheap eat.
666 Crown Street, 2010, Surry Hills, Australia
Located on Crown Street in Surry Hills and the only sushi train in the area, Tara Sushi Bar is the perfect spot to go with friends when that sushi craving hits . Tara Sushi Bar’s fresh and authentic menus are inspired by the flavours of Japan (and Sydneys love of sushi)!
Be prepared to experience tasty drinks and exceptional food including spicy edamame, seared scallop and salmon sashimi. Go and experience this incredible restaurant for yourself- there are so many choices we just know you’re going to love. The venue is also licensed and is BYO so don't miss out.
