An excellent location situated on the Main Street of Kyneton we consider ourselves lucky to have discovered this little gem. It is a upper end pub style setting but with quality of a nice Bistro in terms of its setting! Good food and good service!

About the restaurant

Creative Classics

The Albion Hotel is the darling of Kyenton, a sweet little town just northeast of Melbourne. The building was originally a club hotel established 1861, but the new owners Anthony and Marisa Leahy have taken this heritage building and turned it into a cool and contemporary pub. The colonial style hotel is gorgeously lit in the evenings, when the aroma of its yummy pub food wafts through the air. The dining room has a casual and rustic feel with an open fire that crackles in the winter, and a dappled courtyard popular for al fresco dining in the warmer months. Here they serve up classic Italian dishes made from local produce from the Macedon ranges area, fresh and seasonal vegetables and top quality meat. You've got to try their meatballs in tomato ragu (which comes in entre or main sizes), and their chicken breast pollo ripiena, a fascinating stuffed poultry dish wrapped in prosciutto and served on a zucchini frittata. The Albion likes to get creative with Italian classics and the drinks menu is highlighted by local wines. Stop by on your way through town for a great satisfying meal the whole family can enjoy.

Best dish: Mintaro slow cooked lamb
