Meet the Chef

Chef Nick Stapleton is primarily inspired by Vietnamese cuisine but also draws on traditional French techniques. Growing up with a mother who had her own restaurant, Nick learnt to love simple cooking that respected the ingredients; pasta, roast chicken, slow-cooked pork shoulder. Now an acclaimed chef with several awards under his hat, Nick has brought his creative vision to an impressive roll call of kitchens including the London Club, , Survey Co, Gordita and Ginger’s Diner.

    Beautiful atmosphere, quiet balcony seating, incredible food and very friendly wait staff. We had the tasting menu which gave a great selection with perfect portion sizes for 4 people

    Excellent atmosphere in the courtyard just a bit chilly as the heaters were broken. Highly recommend the 'taste it all menu' otherwise definitely the beef cheeks.

    6 Year anniversary date night. Belfour was so romantic, the food was amazing, the staff were warm and skilled. Just a super amazing gem. Go, you will not be disappointed.

    Most plates are full of taste such as the sweet n sour pork entree, turmeric soup. The drunken chicken is a bit let down, the taste is not enough to me but meat itself is very tender and juicy, For the main, we had the twice cooked duck with curry sauce is my favourite, followed by the falloff the bone spare ribs. Overall the a good experience.

    The food was exceptional especially the Pork ribs.We celebrated our anniversary .The setting was perfect as it was quiet & it has a romantic ambience .We will definitely be dining there again .The service was professional & friendly .I cannot eat chilli so they obliged & presented the dish without chilli .

    Amazing local Neighborhood gem tucked away in New Farm. Delicious Vietnamese delicacies in a devine setting with excellent service. Can’t recommend Balfour Kitchen highly enough.

    We have been on numerous occasions and therefore bring new people to this restaurant and recommend to others. This morning, the service was poor and the food was below average and serving size considerably reduced and the coffee was cold. Most disappointing as this was a farewell breakfast to friends heading back overseas. Will be difficult to return

    I got there and had everything set up on my table. They gave me a free Champagne when the waitress asked about how’s my day? As told her really had a bad day and need to enjoy my meal tonight.. I really like the champagne and enjoyed my main the pho spiced Brisket and my dessert white choc and miso mousse. The brisket was melted in my mouth and my dessert tasted different but I really like it too. I also like my white wine Pinot gris. I definitely recommend this place and will come back to try different menus next time. Thank you guys for your lovely hospitality and great service.

    Fantastic food cooked and seasoned to perfection. Attentive, quick and friendly staff. You will pay a premium price for this excellent service, though. Average price of full bottle of wine was around $80.00.

    Another great Spicers venue - excellent through and through. The food was devine, ambience perfect, staff attentive, pace of meal perfect and then we found the roof top bar! Not to be missed.

    We love Spicers and have been to nearly all of them of the years - the food here was such a let down! Presentation was unimaginative and even more importantly, kinda bland with no stand out flavours. We very politely told our server when we asked and she really didn’t care at all. Definitely not a restaurant up to the Spicers standard.

Our edgy Modern Vietnamese inspired cuisine with a French twist, will entice those with a palate for fresh, light and punchy which also includes a delicious selection of vegan and vegetarian options. The enticing menu is the creation of Head Chef Nick Stapleton and showcases local Queensland ingredients, fresh and cooked, with beautifully balanced Asian aromats and the distinctive sweet, hot, sour and salty flavours of Vietnamese cuisine at its best.
