Excellent
We love Spicers and have been to nearly all of them of the years - the food here was such a let down! Presentation was unimaginative and even more importantly, kinda bland with no stand out flavours. We very politely told our server when we asked and she really didn’t care at all. Definitely not a restaurant up to the Spicers standard.
Expensive but if you want the best Vietnamese cuisine in Australia it will cost you!
It was really nice
Thank you for a very enjoyable evening out. We tried the tasting menu and it was spectacular.
Setting of the restaurant was lovely . Service in roof top bar excellent , but in the restaurant only 1 menu for 4 people and banquets were not explained every well . Lack of information from waitress. Also meals came out too quickly to enjoy .
Such a gorgeous place to dine with a lovely selection of beautiful food.
The chef has a great talent of delivering flavours with punch as well as subtle, but still amazing notes. The staff were friendly and the environment makes you feel like you’re in your own private little world. Excellent work by all.
Overall not bad but definitely not as good as other spicer restaurant we had before, we love spicer but the Balfour definitely not our option again.
A lovely environment in the middle of Brisbane. Food didn’t quite meet my expectations for a Spicer’s Resturant.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and they catered very well for our vegetarian friend. Atmosphere was very relaxed and made for a wonderful night.
Been here the second time since it had the new vietnamese fusion concept implemented for lunch, have to say dinner is way better but nonetheless great spot for good food and any occasion.
We went to the Balfour Kitchen today to celebrate our 23rd Anniversary and after visiting there a little whiie ago (just before lockdown) and being overwhelmed with the food, we were a little unimpressed this time around. The setting is beautiful and the wine was quite lovely but for $50 per head, we would have expected a little more than what we received (basically some pickled vegetables and a few slices of pork belly with lettuce cups for me (I'm gluten intolerant) and pork buns for my husband. All in all rather average for the money we spent ($150) and the fact that it was a rather special day for us!
Absolutely loved both the atmosphere and the food. Service was impeccable.
Service was friendly but not terribly efficient having forgotten on a couple of occasions our request for water and the wine list.
Interesting food and fusion flavours in lovely setting - Pacing of meal service was overly drawn out - Was charged for bottle we didn't order but error corrected upon final payment
We loved our experience at the Balfour Kitchen. Even though the weather was wet and miserable outside, the amazing food, great service and romantic atmosphere certainly elevated our spirits. Everything about this place is first class and we will definitely be back!
Wonderful food and really enjoyed the two course taste it all option. Only downer were the mosquitoes. Luckily the staff were quick to provide repellant when requested.
This is a great little restaurant. Rustic yet elegant. I was amazed by the views from the rooftop bar and the high level of service from start to finish! I would be very happy to come back to this restaurant. The food was delish and the setting was amazing.
Such a lovely spot in the leafy suburb of New Farm. A beautiful old Queenslander converted into a boutique hotel with this wonderful restaurant. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the menu is wonderful. Highly recommended
Great place. Fabulous atmosphere and the food is generous and delicious. The staff were attentive. You feel like you have found this very special place. Perfect Date Night/Special Birthday place.

Head Chef Nick Stapleton showcases local Queensland ingredients with beautifully balanced Asian aromats and the distinctive sweet, hot, sour and salty flavours of Vietnamese cuisine at its best.
While respecting the traditions of French and Asian cuisines, he brings a rebellious flair to the fusion, inspired by the image of a Vietnamese chef cooking to comfort a Frenchman far from home.
