2/10Very disappointing service, rude and untrained staff. I was given bread with gluten while I clearly asked for gluten free. I don't remember this place to anyone who expect great service.

6.5/10Service was very slow- sat down at 7.45, didn’t get a main meal until 8.45. Price is good with fork festival deal. Not so keen to recommend to anyone even with the deal.

8/10The restaurant has an elegant peaceful atmosphere. Our meals were good but we didn’t choose meals from the main course list because they were quite expensive. The waiting staff were pleasant although a bit slow initially to bring drinks. They were however polite and overall helpful. The main draw card of this venue is its ambience and peaceful atmosphere.

10/10The main courses were outstanding. We ordered a side salad, however it was wilted and the waitress agreed that it looked very sad. They did offer to make us a Greek salad which we declined as we only give a place 1 chance, and it they can’t get a simple leaf salad right, I don’t know how they would go with other salads. The waitresses provided excellent service and are to be commended. It took 3 goes to get the bill correct as we had a 50% discount and there were 2 managers trying to get it correct.

9/10The Bar is within The Intercontinental Hotel in Double Bay. A dimly lit room with large fireplace - lovely atmosphere, but somewhat pretentious. Food delicious but expensive. Mains $45: small piece of barramundi, slice of lemon and 2 spinach leaves on the plate! Plus extra $16 EACH for sides of mashed potato and broccolini! We were using a $50 Yums credit which was acknowledged by waitress at beginning, but mistakenly not taken off when waiter processed the bill. When we noticed and asked for the $50 to be credited, after much debate, a form had to be completed giving our credit card details , to be referred to the hotel’s Finance Dept who contacted us next day with the $50 credit. So much of a rigmarole!

4/10Still in a state of shock about how horrible was the food presented - I had the prawn cocktail starter (not great) - then linguine with prawns - except that I was served what looked like fettuccine and tasted like under cooked (Asian dry) egg noodles - the stunning shock was the kitchen insisting that it was linguine. How do I upload the photo?

6.5/10The Bar is plush and welcoming and the food is good but the service was seriously lacking on the night we visited. Our cocktails sat on the bar for almost 10 minutes before someone bought them over and other tables were obviously also having issues which really spoiled the ambience. More training is needed before they encourage guests with deals.

8/10Wonderful ambiance for quiet conversation but a bit disappointing in the quality of the food for the supposed 5 star and the price. Limited menu for a vegetarian.

6.5/10The food was average. Steak was ok but very greasy. No steak knife was served with it. The service was super slow and sometimes was just ignored and we felt we were served by fresh staff. A lot of training is needed. I was given a chipped glass. The water glass was left empty. The 15% surcharge is outrageous specially when the service is lacking. Hospitality is not the same.

2.5/10Area needs some music to fill the space as it feels Flat with a dense energy. Staff walk around lost. Calamari tasted boiled. We were told it should be fried so another was served. It was 15% better but we really couldn’t eat it. A doz oysters delivered for sharing without share plates or lemon or a spoon for the dressing. Two Prosecco’s on menu and the one we choose they couldn’t find! Serve yourself from the bottle only as staff don’t think to serve you even though it’s a bar!! People beside us ordered before us and after we had our first and then second calamari they asked where their meals were. God help them : 2 staff and 8 customers and no one noticed their meals hadn’t come in over 40mins! Can’t go back. My free time is worth more than what this bar offers
