Quantity over quality. The meals are large, but not as tasty as other Bavarian restaurants. For example, my fried apple strudel was served with a french fry.
This restaurant replicates a beer hall atmosphere. Therefore the food was predictably meat heavy. We shared the Munich platter and while the quality seemed fine, in this day and age, it was too much food for two with nothing green to be found. The waste at the end of the meal just doesn’t feel right.
Our group really enjoyed the Munich Platter. Highly recommended menu item with a tasting selection of sausages, schnitzel, pork belly, pork knuckle, sauerkrauts and mash. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was a bit noisy for my liking but to be expected in a place of this nature. Will definitely come back.
The food was tasty and we were happy with the table service. My daughters love the parmigiana. My husband loves the mushy peas. Enjoyable evening
Unfortunately there weren’t enough staff to service the restaurant and they were run off their feet. We were in the corner of the restaurant on a large table which was backed against the wall. It was difficult to get in and out (we had to walk on the back of the stool). It was hot and felt like the air conditioning wasn’t on. We had to leave as the children and I were getting distressed.
Admittedly it was Boxing Day and busy, even taking that into account we were very disappointed. The staff were lovely, but to only have 2 serving at the bar/order counter made for a long wait for drinks and meals. When the food finally arrived it looked rushed onto the plate, the snitzel was dry without enough sauce and the sides pretty tasteless. Not cheap either. Not the quality you would expect of a Rockpool group restaurant... :(
Awesome food including greens snitzel
Generous serves & excellent service
Had the Bavarian platter for 2 - sausages were brilliant, pork Belly/Knuckle a little over done & dry - nice friendly Spanish speaking staff which made me wonder if it was the Bavarian or the Barcelonian
We had high hopes with this restaurant. But menus came out with food on them, maybe clean them before handing out. Drinks were very overpriced. My wife had to choose 3 times to get her choice for dinner, with not having any pork schnitzels. Security came and called last drinks at 10.45pm. Sign on door said no drinks to be served after 12am. Now this is a Saturday night. Internet said open until midnight. Our booking was for 9.30pm after an event at the GC Convention Center. Don't worry we won't be back. We had 6 people disappointed
Awesome dinner experience with the family! Will be back again soon.
I changed my order from a small Jagerschnitzel to a Christmas special but they upped my order from a small to a large without asking so I couldn't finish it. My husband asked for a half pork knuckle but was given a full size and again, he couldn't finish it. There was no sauce or gravy with my schnitzel even though the picture showed a nice big pot of it. My daughter's schnitzel was missing the chili con carne on top. When we asked the waitress she bought some to have on the side after my daughter had almost finished her schnitzel. They had a two for one cocktail special which was good. Even though we got 50% off our meal with the fork special, the experience was still quite average. ☹️ Nobody asked us how our food was which they always do in other restaurants.
Incredibly delicious food with big portions! Family friendly and lovely atmosphere. Service was welcoming. Keen to return again in the future!
Generous serves and unique menu. Will visit again.
The place has potential but falls short, service was dismal and was not a busy night, food the chicken was borderline on undercooked, the rocket salad was certainly not fresh, kransky was good though. If you find yourself here be sure to visit the gelato place next door ????
Waitress was very helpful and friendly
The food was okay, service was okay but the staff who served us wasn’t good in English, we’ve waiting more than 45 mins for a kids meal and when it finally came it was the wrong meal.
A couple of minor mistakes. Food was pretty decent. Not a good place to bring kids. Full of drunks.
Have been to The Bavarian this time with our golf group from Brisbane. Sam the manager and staff were most helpful, friendly and had a smile on their faces all night. We went back again on Saturday night also. The staff had found my phone and kept it safe for me until I came back on the Saturday. Great team and time was had by all my group thanks to the Bavarian team. Keep up the good work xx
