We were so looking forward to going to The Bavarian Chatswood during our weekend in Sydney, but unfortunately, our excitement was turned into disappointment. The service was okay, and the Giant Pretzels very good. The mains however were very hit and miss. The chicken schnitzel and sausages were definitely above average. The pork belly was not too bad, being generous, but the pork knuckle was very ordinary. They were tough, flavourless and just outright disappointing. If we were to return, highly unlikely, we would have the schnitzels, pretzels and sausages but stay well away from the pork belly and knuckle. Not sure if The Rockpool Group's well-publicised allegations of underpaying staff have flowed through to the chefs just not caring about what they are sending out to customers anymore. Would be difficult to recommend The Bavarian Chatswood when there are so many other good options in the area.
The welcome on our arrival was great and they were accommodating with children. Unfortunately the service was disappointing and we were left unattended to for much of the night with drinks ordered missed and plates left on the table a very long time. Poor waitress seemed to have more tables than she could manage
My son just finished his HSC and he chose Bavarian for his celebratory dinner. The food was fantastic.. filled up hungry teenagers, and the happy hour beers were a real bonus. The service was super friendly and relaxed, and genuine.. something that’s not easy to find. I love the greenery and decoration of the inside. We sat in a booth which was comfy and not as buzzy as outside, perfect for us as we wanted to chat. We’ll be back again soon
Friday is too busy....will try again during the week and hopefully will get served sooner
The platters are of good value. Great friendly service and if you are a beer lover, this is a place for you. Would be nice if they have bread rolls on their menu.
We were seated but no menu was brought to us after 10 minutes. Food was ok . Need to improve on service.
Food was good, service was okay!
With the 50% discount value for money .
I love the free snacks during 4-6pm and the $5 drinks during Happy Hour. Service is good.
Service a bit slow but understand as it's a friday and busy .
The service has improved vastly from the last time I dined in July. The servings are generous. Very satisfied overall . Keep up the good work. Thanks.
Service was a little too slow but food was great.
Food was average but on a higher price
Schnitzel was very good. There’s really only schnitzel or sausage to eat. Great schnapps- yum yum
Great food, good beer. Was an awesome experience overall!
Good catchup spot
The German theme has gone
Service was haphazard and disorganised and the venue cold (temperature)
Ive been dining here since it opened and have recently noticed a marked & disappointing decline in the standard/quality of the food abd lvels of serbice provided by the front of house staff.
Service was abysmal. Clearly the service staff and management on that night were incapable of managing a promotional evening, and fell well short of the standard of service we've come to expect of this establishment. This has been a go to place for mates and I in the past for both food and service, but it won't be again any time soon.

A taste of Bavaria on the North Shore
Situated on the main restaurant strip in Chatswood, Bavarian Bier Cafe is bringing a taste of Bavaria to Sydney’s North Shore. The menu pays homage to the authentic taste and cuisine of Bavaria so expect plenty of hearty grub. Some highlights include the surf clam chowder, smoked pork belly and haus-made apple strudel. The bier selection is also incredibl, there are almost too many to choose from. Partake in one of their signature ‘flights’ so you can get a taste of everything! This local favourite is suitable for all occasions, appropriate for after work drinks, corporate lunches and relaxed weekend meals with family and friends.
Best dish: crispy pork knuckle with creamy mash, sauerkraut & Granny Smith apple compote.
