The food is average and not worth what it cost. The service was great. However we had booked for 10 people and were seated in a very squashed bench. It's been a couple of years since I last went to the Bavarian but I remember it being much better quality and value for money.
Service was very slow. We had the tasting plate and it was a good portion. The pork knuckle was very dry, and the sauerkraut and red cabbage were not made in house. The rest was quite acceptable.
The restaurant has moved to a digital menu and payment system, which is a great idea in theory! Except, the payment system was completely down so all orders had to be placed manually. This resulted in orders coming out at multiple times, drinks being entirely missed, and overall poor service. The wait staff were completely unprepared and unenthusiastic. In 2 and a half hours we only managed to get 2 rounds of drinks, and our food. Seriously considering never returning.
Great vibe, great staff ...great view over the river and Bridge....so much food, we walked for an hour after dinner to help get over it. We will be back.
The restaurant was very shabby, tables had nicks and cuts in them and were sticky The floors were also sticky The food was below average in taste and presentation. Food and drinks were extremely overpriced The schnitzel didn’t even have any sort of garnish. The view was great but I would not recommend it just for the view.I was very disappointed with the Bavarian this time
This restaurant has great food and beer but is way too noisy and crowded . I think they need to find a new venue - or accept less people. The staff are wonderful and friendly , its clean, but just so noisy that you can't hear yourself think. And perhaps lose the cowbell for shots? No where in my native Bavaria do I see this at a normal restaurant
The computerised approach is no replacement for personal service and human interaction, never will be. It applied from when I booked to the end of the meal and required considerable time and effort to develop a degree of dexterity. I go dining to get away from phones, keyboards, apps, etc. Such a shame as the meal was good, I’ll stay with the German Club where I can focus on culinary delights.
Generous good and drink servings, fantastic atmosphere
Great food. Service was a bit slow but it was very busy. Worth the wait.
We celebrated Father's Day with my husband and children and the food was excellent, we would highly recommend it to other's. The staff were welcoming and out waitress was very helpful with the ordering system(due to covid). We will definitely be going again.
Been here numerous times, never disappoints, great service, great food and great setting. I have three sons who eat a lot, they leave totally satisfied
Waiter staff not very helpful, asked to be moved outside as inside is extremely noisy waitress did not want to assist and just advised we would have to speak to front hostess. The food service was very good and came out quickly. All the food was tasty although the Cesar salad was basically all lettuce with an $18 price tag.
Super amazing view, friendly staff, good selection of beers on the pricier end of the scale
Absolutely amazing 10\10
Very slow table service, food came out not together, drinks took ages to arrive to table , waiter bought out drink sales on Australian beers which was not valid by mistake (showed all tables this before realising)
Our food was not cooked well. The pretzel was undercooked and so was our calamari. Pretty disappointing considering I’ve been to your restaurant on a number of occasions especially during busy/peak times.
Love the new ordering system, love the atmosphere and great view. Would have been a 10/10 if they had more beer options and if they hadn't run out of pretzels.
Great views and you always know what you’re getting food-wise at the Bavarian. Unfortunately they’ve moved to an ordering app which takes ages, is really antisocial to navigate at a social gathering, and also charges you a surcharge for the pleasure!
Very nice atmosphere, very nice staff and the food was very delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here. Not only because of the awesome German beer, but also because of the whole experience. I had lots of fun there.
Our 4th visit here as we’re on holiday. Tonight, we waited nearly 45 mins for our food and when it came my husbands fries arrived 10mins before the chicken wings. Table not prepared with cutlery. Poor service.

Dinner with a view.
Perfectly positioned on the Brisbane waterfront with sweeping views over Story Bridge and the mighty Brisbane River, Bavarian Bier Cafe is a pretty spectacular spot in which to dine. Come and take in the incredible view while you sip on a stein and feast on traditional Bavarian fare. As a local hotspot for corporate lunches, after-work bevs, celebratory meals and general weekend fun, Bavarian Bier Cafe is where it’s at!
Best dish: spice rubbed wagyu beef tri tip steak.
