Kingfish Tostada was absolutely fresh and delicious. 2 small but delightful mounds of guacamole and shredded salad over delicate slices of kingfish. Definitely a starter not a meal. Also tried the fish tacos. Fresh, light and also 2 small tacos but taste and textures were wonderful. Also ordered the Baramundi main course, which was light, moist and very good with a mild but good green sauce. Had to try the enticing dessert; peanut butter cheesecake. I would recommend starting with this ! It is peanut butter flavor cheesecake served like ice cream with chocolate ice cream and the most amazing homemade honey comb pieces sprinkled over the top. Fantastic but better appreciated on an emptier stomach. Don’t forget the margarita! My personal favorite is the frozen lemon and they have many other varieties just as good.
Very nice atmosphere. Staff could be more attentive- made some errors with bills and took a while to order. Food was good quality and generous portions.
This little restaurant is fantastic. Staff were welcoming and superb as well take initiative. Dishes were quite creative and high quality. Will definitely visit again!
Crispy pork hock very delicious
Good quality food and service...better than other options in the area. Only complaint is that they were very light on quocomole serving size.
Restaurant in a great location and comfortably furnished. Service was unusually slow for a Wednesday night. Food was good without being memorable. Drinks were overpriced. Atmosphere was enjoyable. Should you be visiting, ask for a table at the front of the restaurant (chapel street side) as the back some seems somewhat forgotten.
Great date night out highly recommended. Will be back. All dishes were fresh they were attentive to filling up our wine glasses. Music wasn’t too loud so it was an overall great experience.
Great place for a quick bite with partner or catch up with friends. Food is good too. Excellent value with the 50% off food bill offer. Recommended.
Having been a regular diner at Black Toro Glen Waverley this follows their menu. I thought that there would be merit in differentiating the mains and styles of the dishes. We had the Pork as the large main which was true to quality we expected. The chicken , a smaller main was in comparison on price to the pork and lamb a much more meagre offering. All told a pleasant lunch.
Every time I go to Black Toro I try something different and I have never been disappointed. This time I tried the guacamole which was delicious and the corn chips must have been house made because they were excellent. I also ordered the BBQ Beef rib and it was amazing, served with sweet corn and a corn mash which was really delicious. Their frozen lemon margarita with fabulous sea salt rim was perfect. The Churros Taco and ice cream were worth having dessert for. Highly recommend anything on the menu. Most portions are small but taste and texture really makes up for that.
Food was good, would eat at The Black Toro again to try other items on the menu except the service was not very welcoming or comforting. Will go to Glen waverly to visit next time
Came for lunch ordered the lamb main which was huge and oh so tender. The beef rib was chewy, would liked it to have been fall apart melt in your mouth soft but it was no. Bowl of chips were also huge and margarita was yum.
Good food, friendly helpful service, flexible opening hours. Winning combination. Highly recommend.
Black Toro is a nice place to go for dinner.
Food is great especially the Beef short ribs. Most dishes were nicely presented. Even a simple Baby Lettuce was a surprise. I had fried chicken wings, fish taco and a few other tapas sized dishes. A very enjoyable casual dinner.
Great, fresh and delicious food. Tonight I had the kingfish tostada and the pork taco - both incredible and melted in my mouth. Friendly service and a nice vibe.
Highly recommend this place . I will be sincere about my experience. Service & food were exceptional and definitely would go there again. ????
Another enjoyable experience. Tasty food and accommodating service with the smile. Highly recommend.
The flavour combination is great! Nestled in busy chapel street, the black toro does mexican cuisine justice by giving wonderful flavour combination. The price is reasonable and the fork gives a really good discount!
The institution from Glen Waverley, now in Windsor, has upped its game. Food is delicous and the staff were amazing. Be Warned the pork hock is huge and needs a big appetitve. We will return very soon
