I enjoy breakfast or lunch at the outside cafe and have always loved introducing friends and family to this lovely spot, and, even though I live in Freshwater where there are some nice cafes, I am always happy to drive to Narrabeen as it has become my favourite cafe. I had a very nice breakfast there on Saturday with my niece and she found it very relaxing. I am sad to say though that yesterday's lunch (12 June) was far from the norm. I took my two sisters there and: - One coffee had to be remade as it was not hot - My coffee (which I asked to be extra hot) was hot but cooled quickly and was very weak, therefore tasteless. - The tea was not hot enough yet quite strong so I suggested we order some more hot water, which helped. - Two of us ate the flathead and chips which tasted like they could have come from the freezer at Coles. - The turkish bread for the steak sandwich was extremely soggy - Two of us ordered the date and walnut slice and it was nothing like what we expected. It was rock hard (to the point that we laughed about it flying off the plate trying to cut into it with a fork). - the caramel slice was also very hard and my sister did not enjoy it Overall, none of us enjoyed any part of the meal and I was embarrassed as it was my suggestion to eat there. I will return as I enjoy the location and have normally had no need to complain, but thought I should be honest about our experience yesterday. Thank you.
