Great service - family enjoyed early brekky at the boathouse. Hubby was very impressed with his breakfast bruschetta. Hope to come back and enjoy some kayaking thereafter !

I enjoy breakfast or lunch at the outside cafe and have always loved introducing friends and family to this lovely spot, and, even though I live in Freshwater where there are some nice cafes, I am always happy to drive to Narrabeen as it has become my favourite cafe. I had a very nice breakfast there on Saturday with my niece and she found it very relaxing. I am sad to say though that yesterday's lunch (12 June) was far from the norm. I took my two sisters there and: - One coffee had to be remade as it was not hot - My coffee (which I asked to be extra hot) was hot but cooled quickly and was very weak, therefore tasteless. - The tea was not hot enough yet quite strong so I suggested we order some more hot water, which helped. - Two of us ate the flathead and chips which tasted like they could have come from the freezer at Coles. - The turkish bread for the steak sandwich was extremely soggy - Two of us ordered the date and walnut slice and it was nothing like what we expected. It was rock hard (to the point that we laughed about it flying off the plate trying to cut into it with a fork). - the caramel slice was also very hard and my sister did not enjoy it Overall, none of us enjoyed any part of the meal and I was embarrassed as it was my suggestion to eat there. I will return as I enjoy the location and have normally had no need to complain, but thought I should be honest about our experience yesterday. Thank you.

I booked early and they didn’t reserve a table for me so was put on an indoor table and told that I would be given an outdoor table when one was available. When one became available the waiter didn’t follow up to move me as promised and I had to ask to be moved. Poor communication between staff and lack of organisation for bookings.

We dined on Mother's day where the menu was limited to what is normally offered on their website. We discovered to our disappointment after we left the café that we had been charged a higher, incorrect amount for what was listed on this menu for the addition of bacon to one of the plates. We were also disappointed to find that the bottle of prosecco listed on the wine list found on line had been replaced on the day with a far more expensive alternative. Clearly this was a case of taking an advantage of the customer and cashing in on Mother's Day.

We were seated outside as per our request, however after being there for only 5 minutes all of the water from their outdoor roof poored onto us and drenched us. They didn’t offer much assistance at all. Very disappointed in the service.
