A taste of history Built in 1898 as a local workers pub the character and clientele of The Brisbane remained largely unchanged until a lack-lustre renovation during the 1980's. However, in 2004 this old boozer underwent an impressive renovation blending old with new creating a modern oasis that's suitable for all. Now, The Brisbane Hotel is fresh and contemporary, retaining an urban inner-city aesthetic and traditional Australian pub values. And while the surroundings are high-end, there is no pretension with the food or service. Expect great share plates, hearty pizzas, awesome mains, some sweet desserts and daily specials. Highlights include twice cooked pork belly and the chocolate tart with caramel fudge. Get to this venue for taste of history and a damn good time. Best dish: twice cooked pork belly with papaya, coriander, lime, chilli and ginger caramel.
