Interesting flavours and friendly service
My husband and I had a delicious dinner on Friday night. The service was great and even the chef came out to check if everything was good. The food is excellent especially the fish in banana leaves and the potato and goat curry. They had a person playing the guitar which was really pleasant in the background. The wait staff were very friendly and efficient. We will certainly return to try out other things on the menu.
Awesome. Great service, great food, great people.
Very unique Burman cuisine. The owner gave us the recipes. Lovely guitar music. Good atmosphere
The owner is absolutely lovely, and the service is truly amazing. I found some of the dishes very flavourful, but some a bit lacking. Overall though, quite good and would go back.
The table we booked was inside the restaurant. It was quite a nice place but it was very loud. The acoustic is quite poor designed that the noise of people talking, shouting and noise of guitars at the back was too much for me to bare. It was too loud that my ears were popping and I had headache and couldn’t hear a conversation. Shame that it’s the first let down for me. Lucky we can move to the outside table and it was much better. We ordered School prawns salad, Green mango and fish sauce salad and Burmese beef curry. The school prawn salad was quite good. Crunchy prawns but the batter was a bit too thick with other tempura vegetable. Would be nice if it was thinner so won’t be so soaky with tamarind sauce. The flavour was good but something missing. A bit too sour. Next dish was green mango salad. This one is way too sour. It has sesame oil in it but I think the sourness needs to be toned down and balanced with something else. Cannot taste fish sauce as it says on the menu. The Burmese beef curry was nice! At first it was only salty but once the tongue that was over powdered by sourness can adjust to other flavours, I found the curry quite yummy. It has ginger in it which is similar to Gang Hunglay and a bit like Num Ngeow from North of Thailand. It tasted pretty good actually even though the slow cooked beef was a little tough. It would be nicer if the beef is tender. Big serving for every dish. Nice staff. Overall, it was nice dinner but something is missing which is not good enough for us to come back.
First time trying burmese cuisine, its was excellent !
Great food and service.
Ended up at the Burman Kitchen as an old favourite wasn’t open, what a good decision! All of the food we ordered was fresh and delicious, generous portions sizes too. Fish curry was great and the chicken special with Burmese Roti a standout. Plenty more on the menu to try next time.
The steam fish banana wrap needed additional seasoning, a bit bland, however it’s still our favourite. There were too many onions in the curry prawn dish causing the dish to be too sweet and it was slightly overcooked causing it too be tough, however they were huge prawns. The spring rolls, green mango salad (refreshing) and duck noodles and chicken fried rice were delicious.
Divine food and wonderful, friendly hospitality
The food was good. I would go for the traditional laksa or the traditional curries. I would not recommend the Burman Kitchen for vegetarians. The vegetarian meals are tasty but there are very limited options.
Delicious food, generous portions. Rice is included in the price of mains. Service was lovely. Great value.
Great service and food as always.
Great place to go to in a group and the food was excellent, especially their goat biryani.
Dishes were rather pricey. Food is ok. Service is good.
Great good value food . Interesting dishes at a good price . Tables are placed far enough apart so you do,not feel cramped .
