We had a 5:30pm booking in Father’s Day and they took us out the back to a second room which was slightly bigger and brighter with other families. Our steaks were incredible. I like mine a particular way and the chef delivered it perfectly. Our daughter’s food came out quickly which for any parent is a godsend. Happy kids, happy parents. The wine list is well rounded and grouped well with plenty of options. Service was well intentioned and very friendly.
Food was amazing however our mains took a really long time. Staff told us desserts would be on the house then they forgot our dessert so we left without getting them. Over all was nice but I kind of felt like we were forgotten about twice in a row.
Food was nice. Service was good. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommended. Easy parking at rear. Not cheap but a good selection on the menu. Good for that special occasion
We stop at The Butcher's Block regularly when traveling down to Sydney from Newcastle. Great coffee. Efficient service. Delicious food. Lovely atmosphere when dining in.
Great venue & food, a real firm favourite of ours. However 2 things worth noting as pulling this rating down. Firstly on cold nights you can end up with a really breezy table if you're close to front of back doors the waiters go through to serve as doors often left open. Secondly with their steaks they have moved to a strange serving - a steak with a small bowl of fat chips but no greens > makes for a very empty looking plate. Disappointing plating up on a $50 dish. They need to rethink this one!!
Our dinner was amazing from entrees to dessert! Steak and ribs were cooked perfectly and had the most amazing mushroom gravy and creamy potato on the side. The desserts were magnificent as well. Staff were quite attentive and helpful. We were seated at the back of the restaurant which still maintained a good ambiance but I found it a bit too dark and gusts of cold wind would come in and out every time a staff member would pass the back door but it didn’t disrupt our dinner too much. Other than that, really great experience and a good place to celebrate special occasions.
Brilliant meal and great service. Starters especially the eggplant was delicious and the steaks were great.
As always, delicious food. But clearly struggling w COVID impact. Series of errors in getting our table , the right wine, water even the correct meals. Was like a scene from Faulty Towers! But we’ll stick w them, just maybe warn any guests we take To have a sense of humor and some patience lol
Best steak and restaurant that we’ve been to in a long time and a gorgeous setting outside (and inside too). New to the area so very glad we found this gem.
Excellent food and even better service. Perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Definitely will be visiting again soon. Thanks.
Our first dinner at this cosy place. Really good food, got the orders wrong initially but easily fixed. An expensive evening, but a lovely dinner out with friends.
Went for my daughters birthday she has food allergies and they catered for her with no fuss. The mixed rib platter was fantastic my husband and I couldn’t finish it. Enjoyed the calamari and the anti-pasto platter for starters we all shared. Other daughter enjoy the pappadelle noodle with lamb. Birthday girl enjoyed her steak and salad. Didn’t have dessert had birthday cake instead staff platted the cake beautifully with Ice cream and cookie crumbs. Will be returning to try the new menu coming soon according to our waitress. Can’t wait.
Although they were experiencing difficulties with the food orders being transferred electronically to the kitchen, the staff apologised for the delay. As far as the food was concerned, the prices were somewhat expensive given the lack of choice for any included sides particularly vegetables. Otherwise the food was well cooked.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
9/10 for mains. 3/10 for desserts - and all three marks go to presentation.
Had an awesome experience at this restaurant. It was extremely busy so I’m glad I booked! Amazing food and friendly, prompt service. I will definitely be a return customer.
Food is always lovely. Everybody enjoyed their meal. Rump steak was perfectly cooked, and I am still drooling about the ribs. Easy street access for my walker friend.
First time we’ve eaten here. Food was great with lots of fresh options. Best char grilled eggplant we’ve ever had! lots of beautiful flavors and subtle spices in all the dishes we tried. Staff were lovely and very helpful. We will come back here again.
Steak or lamb shoulder is their best, I've been here a few times and last night I tried the lamb neck pasta, not bad, not special. Would have preferred the steak. Their chips and brussel sprouts are good too. Service is elegant and professional. A nice night out if you need to go local.
Exceeded expectations! Great food, outstanding service (especially Hena) and a real lucky find on the north shore. We need more of these places!
