    The meals were as hoped for, tasty, beautiful, made me feel special on Valentine's Day. View was magnificent, service was genuine and kind and happy. Don't follow the maps, got taken the b ack way across crappy dirt roads only to find out the bitumen road was quicker on the way home :-D It was out first time there and the views were a dream spot for me. I'm inclined to check out their accommodation for our next visit.

    The restaurant itself is very nice and has an amazing view. While the food was nice (gnocchi was a standout for me), there was definitely room for improvement. A menu with such few selections should be more refined & of a better standard. The staff were very friendly & accommodating.

    Food was amazing. Really appreciated the chef coming and discussing my husband's dietary intoleranceso and offering alternatives. The beetroot gnocci was the best gnocci we've had. Our waitress was so lovely and really made the effort to ensure our experience was great. Will definitely recommend.

    The service was very good and polite, the food was excellent and well presented the cocktails were amazing. The room was a bit noisy but nothing horrible. I will definitely be going back

    Polite waiters, was honest and told us upfront that service was a little slow today, which was fine by us. In the end, after much waiting, needed to go to the bar myself to order drinks, returned to the table waiting for these but the waiter couldn’t walk 20m to bring these (although restaurant was empty) so self service. Food choice is terrible (burger, pizza, fish and chips, gnocchi floating in oil - tasted good though). The view from the balcony is VERY nice and it was quiet so overall we still had a good time. Wouldn’t need a lot of effort to improve, not sure why management doesn’t although looks like ratings have been consistently bad for a few years. At least you can rock up at the last minute without a booking which on Easter Weekend is a real benefit!

    found the food was disappointing not what we was expecting. Found the food was laking flavour and love and felt we was ripped off for what we got .but the views and the wine was marvelous

About the restaurant

Our food philosophy at The Cellar Kitchen is to showcase ingredients from the farms, fields and homes of our fellow Barossan's and South Australians. We are inspired by our farmers, by the ingredients growing wild around us, by the seasons and what the harvest will bring.

Our food is driven by the land and the people around us, grown with love and hard work, presented with care and thought to the innate characteristics of the ingredients and how to utilise them fully.

We believe in using the whole animal, all of the crop, we preserve, cure and pickle ingredients in house. We butcher and process our meats and produce in house charcuterie and a myriad of dishes. Breads are made in house, cheese, olives and oils are all local - our farming network is wide and our backyard is abundant.

We want to produce heart-warming food that is not only enjoyable, but gives our guests a real insight to the region they are staying in and the craft and skill of the food producers that inhabit it.
