Very good
Food was overpriced, very average probably would not go back
Meal was amazing but did enjoy the old menu. Miss the steak sandwich
Loved the one fifty lashes beer. Food was good but not value for money especially pizza as it used to be decent sized and more toppings. Waitresses were lovely. Unfortunately very noisy and my ears are ringing today.
We were quickly seated. The food and service were good however, the food did not all come out together (10mins wait for three of the seven meals); this was the only negative.
We drove from Bentleigh to have dinner here - the food is worth it! Highly recommend the gnocchi! Ambience is great too. Better than most pub experiences.
On entering I order a beer and an orange juice, neither we available. Someone was sat at our reserved table so we were moved. Although online our booking was for the last lunchtime slot only starters or pizza available at this time which isnt mentioned online. Ordered food and our first choice was unavailable. Go back to bar and the drink I ordered first (which wasnt my first choice anyway) was now also unavailable. The meal when served was of a very poor quality and we were embarrased to take our friends there. Several previous visits have been good but we will not be back after this terrible visit.
Disappointing that some beers and menu items not available
Had a 4.45pm booking on NYD and understood it may be busy or different to the usual service. When we got there it was very quiet and still waited 20mins to be checked on after sitting, no water, no drink offers, nothing. As it was table service only we had to wait. Once ordered, the drinks still took longer than expected, 15mins for 2 tap beers, meaning we were there almost 40mins before even receiving a drink. The main waitress who seated us and took our order could not care less about the customers, she was very disinterested and unapologetic as she had clearly forgotten about us and didn't seem to care about job at all. She also was wearing her covid mask on her chin. We also were charged close to a 20% surcharge for the public holiday which was never mentioned or listed anywhere. As we both work in hospitality we expected a surcharge but $15.60 for an $82 bill is outrageous, especially when never mentioned ahead of time. Only leaving 2 stars instead of zero as the food was decent enough, pizza was tasty and the younger staff member who brought our drinks and checked us was lovely and seem to be the only one that cared. Deal with your staff; 0/5 for service. Will not return or reccomened.
Chelsea and Liv were amazing!! Absolutely immaculate. Actual prime time. Drinks were great. Thankyiyyuuuyyyuyyuyyyyy youuuuuuu berrryyyyy
Have been going to the cheeky squire for quite sometime, on this occasion it was quite lovely food amazing, service good, love the the 1/2 price food, many thanks
The place looked great but the service was awful, we were seated and no told us if it was table service or go to the bar to order, we didn’t get given menus so after a while my husband went to ask. We were given menus then waited ages again to order. Then our main meals came out followed by the starters 5 mins later! I asked if the main was meant to have a sauce, the waiter didn’t know. A waitress clearing drinks away saw we were upset now and asked if we wanted to see the manager to which we said yes, she then came back and said “oh he gave you 20% off” without him even bothering to come over to the table. At this point we asked would that cover the starters cost and she said “I don’t know”. It wasn’t even busy, very quiet night and the staff seemed very uninterested. The food actually was really really nice but I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend based on the service.
We booked for 12 as we needed to leave quickly due to work, ordered straight away, 45-50 min delay, apology received after asking for manager, no offer of discount other than an offer of a round of drinks- not suitable as we were returning to work, would not eat here again !
A decent steak at a fair price, spaghetti marinara also good pub fare, washed down with a mid-strength beer looking out to the Bay . . . .great vista!
Always a great place to catch up with friends. Food is always great too
Great location! Tricky parking and can get really crowded. Hope smoking gets cancelled.
One of the four meals was forgotten ? or just significantly delayed which meant the other three meals were on the table loosing heat and awkward for everyone, to start eating or not. Asked for the bill to be brought to the table, server forgot, had to be re asked although there were hardly any patrons left.
Staff incompetent. Kitchen was closed before staff even bothered to take our order. After a small debate, we were lucky enough to order. Meals took forever and then were essentially inedible. Bar was closed before mains served. Absolutely disgraceful.
Waited 1 hour almost 30 minutes for dinner, order entree and it never came out when I asked the waitress I was told it would be still coming then was told she didn’t know what happened but it was bever ordered. Then we were asked if we wanted our entrees after we d eaten our mains. Not given any water on a 34 degree day, overall it’s a busy time and we understand however would have liked better service
Food has really slipped from 12 months ago and the menu is quite condensed. Food used to be brilliant but there are definitely short cuts being taken now.
Not a lot on the menu at the moment, especially hard if you are vegetarian or vegan. Great view, food was average, disappointing drinks and dessert menu.
