The staff were fabulous, they smiled all night. I’ve never had waygu roast before and I am smitten.

The service was really slow and awkward. We'd booked with 50% off, which we flagged on our way in. We waited more than 30 minutes to order. 10 minutes after we'd finally ordered, we were told the restaurant only offered this deal at a different time (even though it was clearly available at the time booked on the website). They allowed us the discount begrudgingly. The menu had few options and wasn't inspiring. The food was generally well prepared, though the beef was very overcooked (we asked for rare, and were told this wasn't possible as the beef was pre-cooked by sous vide, which doesn't really make sense.) We won't be back.

Menu is misleading. The $40+ "Fillet" steak on the menu is rump, not scotch or eye. Cheese cake nothing like the picture. Food is catering standard.

The Cliveden generally does a seafood buffet on the weekends, however we were lucky enough to go when there was an a la cart menu on offer. (I say that, mainly because i prefer that type of dining) Everything was fine, however as there were very few other customers, the atmosphere felt fairly stale. The food was good, but i wouldn't be happy to pay $45 per dish. I am an Accor member, so would only go back using the membership discount.

Great drinks selection

Unfortunately the morten bay bugs seemed overboiled and was tasteless and dry. Oysters and mussels were fresh as were the prawns. The wagyu rump and striploin were however very tender. Very nice desserts too.
