Great evening! Sounds weird to say but the curry was definitely cooked 'English style'. Great service, delicious food, I will definitely be returning again soon.

We had the mushroom curry, amritsari kofta, herb naan and rice w peas. All highly recommend. The service is good, ambiance is casual/basic.

The outfit of the restaurant is pretty good. Food wise - taste is ok but would not consider it value For money. Customer service - Average They definitely lack on dessert choices. I would give it a 6/10 for the overall visit

Food was very nice, however for the prices charged, I did think the curry portion could be larger. We dined on a 50% off voucher so it was great value for money, however I wouldn't want to pay full price. Service was excellent

About The Colonial Darlinghurst British Indian Cuisine

The Final Frontier The Colonial is the second of two uber-popular restaurants, with the latest addition gracing Sydney’s trendy eastside. With rich wooden furniture and opulent chandeliers that hark back to colonial grandeur, the interior really sets the tone for the British Indian cuisine you’re about to enjoy. The food is nothing less than avant-garde, drawing inspiration from colonial times and polishing them off with a contemporary crunch. It actually comes from India’s North-West Frontier Province as it was during British rule. This style is characterised by slow cooking veges and meats in clay pots, producing juicy tender food that retains the freshness of its original flavours. They do an array of tapas, both meat and vegetarian, influenced by flavours across India, as well as rich succulent curry mains. The prices? So good for what you’re getting! Even more so when you remember the magical ambience and fantastic service that comes along with it. Bring your friends; it’s time to do Indian, pommy-style. Best Dish: Amritsari Malai Kofta
