Fabulous
Service was slow. The menu was average with the first four dishes being pasta! My fish was over cooked and the roast was dry. Not the lovely menu and food the the Duck Inn served when I went last. Very basic and disappointing.
We had no complaints. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was great
The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, it was vey clean and it had a very nice vibe. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back
Slightly dissapointed the duck liver pate wasn't on th emenu, but that's prettty minor. Great beer selection, and great food. Highly recommmend
Nice casual atmosphere with good service. The food was just what we needed, and the "pork buns" were really nice sliders. Quick service and polite
Elegant local pub grub with nice specials menu and one of the best pub wine lists in town.
Will come back again, amazing experience
I have to say we were very disappointed with the quality of food we were served at The Duck Inn. Being a cool, wet day two of us ordered the roast of the day, which IMO is hard to get wrong but they did. The meat was chewy and fatty and almost inedible and the gravy tasted straight out of a packet.
The duck inn is a great local neighbourhood pub Located on a Victorian terrace lined inner city quite street, filled with locals. Good food, good service & dog friendly
Wonderful food and atmosphere, lovely and timely service and an excellent local choc porter.. The Pork and Fennel sausages were perfect by the way.
Very friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The special menu was really nice as was the other dishes on the menu, but the linguine was a bit disappointing as the taste of oil was too strong. It’s nice to find a dog friendly place that is indoor as well.
This restaurant is definitely a word of mouth place, it's tucked away among the houses and away from the main road. We were welcomed warmly as soon as we walked in, really liked the plate with my name/booking details on it. A few of us had beef brisket and it's melt in your mouth, definitely best dish on the menu. Red wine selections were great, but my friend was disappointed with the riesling.
10 of us came for dinner and drinks for our first catch up since lockdown. Staff were so friendly and the setting was very cosy. Will definitely go back.
The Duck Inn is a cute little pub in a side street in Chippendale. Having been before and had excellent food, tonight's experience was disappointing. The beer on tap was great as always but the quality and selection of food was underwhelming. The barramundi was over cooked and most of the food was heavily salted. Nice atmosphere and service was good but until the food improves I won't be back.
We've eaten here twice before and had really brilliant meals. This time we took a friend and it was okay. Just. Basically pub food. Nothing to complain about, but nothing Wow! either. Probably won't bother going again.
This hidden pub has a nice pub atmosphere. The food was better than “pub food”. Not a big menu but adequate to give a variety. Managed to park out the front which was a bonus.
Service pre-theatre was really slow. We got there two hours before our show, ordered fairly quickly and waited about an hour fir the food. Generous food portions and reasonable quality. If I went there again before a show, I’d keep checking that it will arrive in time to eat without causing indigestion!
A great place to eat. Great food and service
Easy comfortable place for a catch up with friends.
OK food and reasonably good value, especially if you are there for happy hour and the $5 beers and wines suit your palate.
Thursday: 5pm - 11pm; Friday-Sunday: 12pm - 11pm.

Home Sweet Home An inner city pub with timber tables, quiet outdoor seating with umbrellas, craft beer on tap, comfy lounge chairs, book cases and nary a poker machine in sight?
Welcome to The Duck Inn Pub & Kitchen. A local favourite, the Duck likes to shake things up with its succession of ‘nights’ including, Happy Hour Tuesdays to Saturday from 5pm till 7pm, Tuesday Night Trivia and Sunday roast special, available every Sunday until sold out.
Kind of like going to the cosy home of a friend with better cooking skills than you and a well-stocked bar. In terms of the menu, there are plenty of pub favourites such as salt and pepper calamari – but it comes with smoked chilli aioli, and mustard-dressed salad leaves. Ditto the traditional bangers and mash which features Blackforest Smokehouse Cumberland sausages and creamy mash with onion jam and jus. Definitely a cut above your average pub fodder.
