This was our first time at The Duck Inn and we absolutely loved it! My crispy skin trout was cook to perfection which i like rare. The skin was super crispy. The seasonal veggies were perfectly cooked as well. My hubby had beef cheeks. It was delicious. The cheeks were soft and melted in the mouse and the source was beautiful and rich. Duck spring rolls were really tasty as well. Loved it! Will be back for sure.

Sadly I cannot recommend The Duck Inn. No table was allocated for our booking when we arrived. The sharing plate we wanted to order was unavailable (this was at 6pm on a Saturday night). We then ordered two dishes from the Duck Classics menu. The battered fish was undercooked and the accompanying salad was over dressed with a too sweet vinaigrette. The duck schnitzel was very small and the accompanying fennel salad was not freshly made. Service was friendly and the bill came quickly when we asked for it but we will not be returning to this restaurant.

I had set up a monthly Sunday Roast catch up with a group of friends ranging from 12 to 16 people in attendance. We were there last Sunday and we were truly disappointed. I recieved a call to confirm the booked, this call was around 4pm. 1. By the time we got there, at 5:30pm there were no more roast dinners or deserts left. 2. My friend found a rubber band in her salad. 3. The trout tasted like it had been frozen, it was very watery. 4. The others felt the Pippi pasta was too rich. To be honest, we ended up having meals we did not want and ended up not liking therefore we are going to move away from this place as a monthly venue. This was our 3rd month we had been. The other 2 months seemed to be good and we were really happy to find a venue to keep as a regular. Due to our disappointing night they end up losing roughly around $400 to $600 from us. I would recommend going for a beer here but I think that is as far as it goes for these guys. They should just stick to the basics

About The Duck Inn

Home Sweet Home An inner city pub with timber tables, quiet outdoor seating with umbrellas, craft beer on tap, comfy lounge chairs, book cases and nary a poker machine in sight? Welcome to The Duck Inn Pub & Kitchen. A local favourite, the Duck likes to shake things up with its succession of ‘nights’ including, Happy Hour Tuesdays to Saturday from 5pm till 7pm, Tuesday Night Trivia and Sunday roast special, available every Sunday until sold out. Kind of like going to the cosy home of a friend with better cooking skills than you and a well-stocked bar. In terms of the menu, there are plenty of pub favourites such as salt and pepper calamari – but it comes with smoked chilli aioli, and mustard-dressed salad leaves. Ditto the traditional bangers and mash which features Blackforest Smokehouse Cumberland sausages and creamy mash with onion jam and jus. Definitely a cut above your average pub fodder.
