Superb food, great atmosphere, excellent service. So pleased we booked this last minute. Best food in Oz we’ve had in a months worth of travels.

One of our favourite restaurants which we go back to over and over again! Food is always amazing and the service is attentive. Set on the harbour but out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the city.

We were super excited to celebrate Khan’s birthday, it was a surprise for him. The tasting menu was amazing, the kangaroo was overcooked but they replaced it with a new one straight away, which we really appreciated. The waiter was lovely but he didn’t take my drink orders properly. I was really expecting something special for his birthday as I had seen other people on social media posting celebration photos at The Gantry with a lovely celebration plate and candle. I mentioned it in the reservation, but there was nothing and I thought that was unfortunate and disappointing.

Exceptional service. Nice ambiance, unfortunately a rowdy table nearby occasionally ruined the atmosphere.

Wonderful date night to spend with your loved one.

My only comment is that although I booked a pre-theatre menu I did not expect the ordinary a la carte menu with a few selections that could be ordered quickly. I was expecting a special pre-theatre menu as I have had at other restaurants. I therefore ended up spending more than I anticipated.

Hidden gem. Beautiful views. Food was great. Took a little time to come out seeing as we were the only ones there but everything else made up for that.

Food - superb! Atmosphere was brilliant! Honestly, expected to have a view of the lights and the harbour, made up for this by being delicious and quiet enough that we could catch up with each other. Thank you.

About the restaurant

The Gantry Restaurant

Located within the luxurious Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel, this hatted venue offers Modern Australian al fresco dining with sweeping views of Walsh Bay and Sydney Harbour. Paying homage to The Rocks’ heritage charm while simultaneously adopting a modern vibe, The Gantry is very dapper indeed. The intimate industrial inspired space is fitted out with solid timber floors, weathered wooden columns, mellow blues, off whites, floor-to-ceiling- glass windows and a number of tables out on the pier maximising the extraordinary water views.

Executive Chef, Thom Gorringe, has created a tasty menu focusing on freshly foraged produce and punters can dine a la carte, or opt for the degustation feast. Think of it as laid back fine dining! Great for intimate dates or small friendly get togethers, The Gantry is a great addition to Sydney’s dining scene.
