Fantastic service and incredible food in a beautiful atmosphere!

Food was excellent! Great atmosphere, and friendly service, would highly recommend :) The pea soup was delicious and the lamb was done perfectly!

Pros and cons here. On the pro side, the food when it finally came was good. Our favorites were the Migas and the green salad with pears. The one server who was serving the entire upstairs also was friendly and working hard. The cons were that 1) they were really short of wait staff so it took an hour to get lunch, 2) the bread was TERRIBLE .. tasted like it was a day old, and 3) while it should have been quiet and peaceful in there, a very loud table next to us made it quite the opposite. Maybe slightly opening a window might have helped? At any rate, a decent but not particular fabulous experience.

Sat outside, enjoying the crowds of tourists. They did NOT ask about the reservation. Loved the food, particularly the Port, in lieu of dessert.

We had expected to eat inside but were informed that there was an event inside and we could only sit outside. It was breezy and we had no dressed to sit outside, so we were chilly. Service was not attentive. Our wine bottle was placed far from the table and then our waiter appeared to be confused when we asked for our glasses to be topped up. The food was ok, but cooled down very quickly with us being outside. Overall, a disappointing experience.

We booked a table on the terrace but as it was chilly asked to move inside. The dining room was tastefully decorated with lovely views across the river Douro. We were made to feel very welcome, with attentive but not intrusive service. The food was excellent - we started with delicious home made bread and seasoned butter, and tasty cockle rissoles. Both our main courses were superb - we had the octopus and the mushroom risotto. We shared a fantastic chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream to finish. We also enjoyed a very nice bottle of local Douro wine which was reasonably priced at 14 Euros. Highly recommended for a special, but very affordable meal, in Porto - really can't find any fault.

We had a special dinner at The George Restaurant tonight. We started with a drink on the terrace and then moved upstairs to the table that we had booked. The food was fabulous and the staff were absolutely top rate. They treated us with so much respect and were super friendly. We really couldn’t fault them. It was a superb evening.

Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our food (and wine!) My tomato and goat's cheese salad was very good and huge. I had seafood with rice which was excellent. John enjoyed his tuna with the bun being too much for him. Very good desserts and John loved his 20 year old port. Only downside was a group of 15 inevitably loud people (mostly English). Always difficult in a limited space when there is a big group. Lovely room, well laid out so everyone can enjoy some of the view.

We truly enjoyed our dinner at The George, our server Hugo was well informed and we were very pleased with his recommendations. Somewhat unusual takes on Portuguese cousins. Would definitely recommend.

Very cosy restaurant located on the riverfront, with a beautiful view of service Porto. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and professional. For our mains we had the octopus and tuna steak, both of which we highly recommend. For desert we tried the lime crumble, the pear cooked in Port wine and a cheese pie with Port wine ice cream - all of them were lovely. I would higly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality meal. Definitely worth the price tag.

I was with highs expectations but at the end I felt disappointed! Don’t know if it was because I used the promo porto restaurant week but I was expecting the waiters to tell me about the food and it was about. But they were nice and the restaurant it’s beautiful.. but the mood was strange.
