6/10The food was as ordered. After the waitress cleared our table, we felt like we were being kicked out, TVs were turned off at 9pm & it was obvious the staff wanted to leave.

5.5/10We ate here to do a casual 50th birthday dinner for my dad. I originally booked for 8 people online and only called and told them it would only be 6 people about half an hour before our booking. When we arrived it said to ask a staff member where our table was. We asked someone, and she just pointed telling us it should be out the back. When we went over the table hadn’t been changed, and could still seat all 8 people or more. Not a biggy. It was a very busy night so a staff member came over to us and said we had to be out by 7:30 as another booking was coming in after. She said the table we were sitting at was actually the other booking’s table but they had just squeezed us in. This to me was poor service, as I had booked online and there was an available time slot at 5:30 (our booking) so if the time slot is available then there should be no saying we “were squeezed in”. The room we were in kept so much noise in, and we had a big family with young children next to us, so the noise just bounced around and we could not hear each other speak. Once our food came out we all enjoyed that. My Nana ordered a seafood marinara, which looked so sloppy when it came out, just kind of thrown together. When she was eating it she said the sauce was just stuck to the pasta, making it a very dry dish. Because she didn’t like it she left most of it on the plate. When the waitress came over she offered to get her something else, but due to our time limit we didn’t want to wait so she said no. Overall was a disappointing night.

9.5/10The food was outstanding! The lighting is a little dull but the food and service makes up for it x 1000. I would highly recommend the George Tavern to anyone and regularly visit with my family.

6.5/10The food is allways good. Service and wait time for meals has been going down hill over my last 5 or 6 visits, I would eat here at least once a month up till now but the last few visits have made me reluctant to return.

8.5/10Always a good spot for dinner. The food was as delicious as usual. Always consistent. The serving sizes are on the smaller side though. So it's a bit pricier.

8/10Our dinner was yummy! We had a pizza which was cooked perfectly and the corn fritter and avo burger. The burger was enjoyable but it would be nice if the corn fritter was slightly different. It’s quite soft and mushy and would taste better crumbed and fried. We also had the chicken wings and feel they would have been yummier if they were oven baked instead of fried however we do understand that you need to cater to your customers wants in the area.

9.3/10Kids room is good but machines need to be updated as we lost some money on them being jammed which disappointed the kids.

The George Tavern, affectionately known by our locals as The George, is Maitland's premier award winning hotel.
Conveniently located just off the New England Highway, next to Stockland Greenhills, The George is open 7 days a week with food service from 11.30am to 9pm daily.
We have carefully created our menu based on many
factors, most importantly, what our customer wants.
Choose your meal according to your situation, mood or naughtiness.
If you are feeling healthy, you can choose a salad, or
substitute your pasta for our zuchinni noodles tossed
in one of our new pasta sauces.
Something with a twist? Why not add a delicious sauce
or compound butter to your salmon, chicken or steak &
choose a couple of sides to share.
If you are after an easy pub meal then you are going to
reach for something from our favourites or for our schnitty!
But if you're feeling a little evil …... we dare you to try one of our
icky sticky gooey toppers on your steak, schnitty or fries & wash it down with a freak shake!
Of course we will always feature our chef special creations changing weekly.
