This is a local pub with excellent standard fare but what i love most is that there is music but you can actually have a conversation because the music is not too loud and the acoustics are conducive.
Great choice of dishes to suit all tastes. Eating area has lots of character with the added ambience of inner city dining. Meals reasonably priced.
This place is always great
A lovely venue on a week night, not crowded or noisy but a pleasing consistency. Thoughtful wait staff & good food. The best affogato I've ever had!
the food was really good, the service was great and staff was attentive without being intrusive and as a whole, the evening was a very pleasant experience..
Good service and reasonably good food. The tables are a bit smallish, but drinks and food is good. The eggplant schnitzel is a novelty and tastes good.
Excellent place for drinks and meals. A bit on the expensive side, and the quality is reasonably good.
Great food and atmosphere Loved the Sunday roast Will be back for sure Great place and so cosy in winter
The menu was bit limited, especially for someone who cannot eat chilli and whose second choice proved not to be available. The service and the ambience were excellent, as was the quality of the food and the price was good as well.
It may seem like an unusual setting for a business meeting but I’ve done it a couple of times and it’s been great!
As always, excellent in every regard.
Best steaks in the neighbourhood!
Always enjoy eating here
Lovely fireplace for cold winter nights. Great upmarket pub food with pub classics as well
Nice renovation. Good pub menu.
Good pub nosh. The roasts were excellent.
.lively atmosphere and good service
Service was very attentive, food was great. Lovely steaks.
I am a regular at the Glebe Hotel. It never disappoints
This pub restaurant has been revamped, and while the environment may be improved, the menu was better before. Their much loved beef and Guinness pie (as The Youth Hotel) was amazing. The new beef pie (as The Glebe Hotel) is average (and much smaller!) The rest of the menu is standard fare - nothing really stood out amongst my fellow diners. The rice pudding dessert was a hit though.

63 Bay Street, 2037, Glebe, Australia
Glebe’s watering hole since 1862…
Formerly known as the Australian Youth Hotel, this heritage listed dining institution has undergone a refreshing yet traditional makeover by one of Sydney’s leading hospitality architects Alexander & Co. Now locally known as The Glebe Hotel, it’s continues to cater to its corporate clientele and locals alike with a strong emphasis on quality food and drinks and welcoming staff.
They are on trend with a full range of craft beers, an approachable wine list for your palate and pocket and classic cocktails and spritzes for you to enjoy both before or after dining. The menu has a good offering of counter meals which cater for vegetarians with a crisp Eggplant schnitzel, parmesan, tomato, chilli & olive or your traditional Ale battered fish, mushy peas and hand cut chips. For those with the love of Guinness you can’t go past the Steak & Guinness pie, buttered greens, mash & gravy washed down with Sydney’s best pint of Guinness. For a more refined meal, the heritage listed stables bar and dining offers waited service with some of Sydney’s best gastro pub food. Start with a shared plate of Crisp lamb belly, torched baby gem, salsa verde or Octopus, kipfler, chilli & citrus butter, Bloody Mary aioli and why not wash that down with a glass of fruit driven Nick O’Leary Riesling served in twinkling glass ware. For the meat lovers you can’t go past their signature ‘mixed grill for two’ or one of their char grill steaks notably the 200g wagyu rump cap, rocket, watercress & pickled eschalot, hand cut chips and your choice of house made sauces. Alternatively you may like to try the a Berkshire pork chop, caramelized fennel, pickled mustard caviar, fennel salad or one of their market fresh fish or grill specials.
With a hay loft above the dining room for private functions for up to 30 persons and a leafy beer garden open 7 days for lunch and dinner, The Glebe Hotel continues its heritage as a very, very good pub dining experience.
