Excellent ambience and setup. Bit high on pricing but is totally worth it. “Murgh Malai Tikka, Garlic Naan and Chicken Tikka Masala” are a must try for non-vegetarians. We ordered “Chicken Biryani” take away and it was not upto the mark. Hence, deducting 1 point from feedback hoping it may have been one-off. But overall highly recommended for Indian cuisine lovers. Cheers!
Great food. Enjoyed a mix of vegetarian and meat dishes. All excellent. Very nice layout and decorations. Close to tram stop. Entrance is on George Street under Met Centre.
Food was exceptional. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend if you are in the city to go to this restaurant. Manager looked after us by giving us another sparkling wine when we had finished out bottle. Very happy!
Great dining ambience and good service dined here with a group of 11, everyone enjoyed their meals
You cannot believe what this restaurant did to my family tonight, We made a reservation for a special occasion through Fork dining website for 5 30pm Sunday the 20th Oct. My husband who works nearby wanted to check it out for a future company function as well so we decided to venture out a long way into city on a Sunday. Guess what? It was shut! We waited and waited and also called a few times only to get a voice mail. My husband did say it was odd to have a restaurant open in the city on Sundays. I surely had a confirmation mail so didn't doubt once our trip to city would be totally wasted I never ran into a situation like this in my life. I felt so bad for bringing out the whole family to experience this awkward situation. We did find another restaurant in the city. It's okay to close on Sundays but why accept bookings in the first place ? Or at least they could have called to notify us. I dont know about weekdays but please avoid booking this restaurant on weekends.
Could have done with constructive advise by the waiter regarding our choices when ordering garlic naan with mainly"dry dishes"and not a curry in sight. It was the captain (I think) who pointed out our mistake in the ordering. However they gave us a nice spicy dhal to rectify it.
Best Indian food. Very generous with Chef's menu.
Great food, atmosphere and service
The quality of food was very bad..had no flavour ..it can’t be called authentic Indian cuisine ..the serving was so small for the price that they were charging ..
Very nice spot in a very convenient location. Excellent range of food and delicious to boot.
Highly recommend chicken tikka and butter chicken. Staff are very friendly.
The ambience was excellent. It had an authentic Indian feel to the restaurant. The food was superb. Enjoyed a fab Father’s Day lunch.
I asked for my course to be extra spicy, and it wasn’t at all. A friend of mine asked for her course to be mild, but the waiter told us he made every course “a bit spicy” even though that’s not what we asked for. This has happened to me before at The Grand Pavillion, I ask for my meal to be extra spicy and every time the waiters tell me they will make it “European spicy”, which isn’t spicy at all.
The food was terrific. I can’t say the same thing for the service. Perhaps they were short handed.
Food good Service straight from Fawlty Towers - water offered on arrival but didn’t arrive/wine list out of date - not available/wine missed off bill but no thank you when we pointed it out!
Food was wonderful, really tasty & very well presented, though a little slow to order & arrive. Just found the restaurant cold, several diners in coats and quite a draft when entrance door opened - we visited in August/Winter. An air curtain door or brightly coloured velvet drape to downstairs entrance would seriously help this problem. The Indian decorative touches are lovely but the floor is bland & doesn’t help warm it up or help with ambience when not full
Service bad. Worst service ever. The only recommendation I can give is don’t go there.
Good food and great service. Bit expensive but worth it.
Lovely meal out, with great service and awesome food. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it for a special occasion.
Good ambiance and service. Food is less authentic (spicy) than the authentic Indian I think.
