4.5/10Although the steak was pretty good, the service was terrible. Despite booking online, they did not have us booked in and we ended up on a back table in the blaring sun. We then had to ask for some service just to get a drink. You're paying premium prices for an average experience.

7/10There was only one waiter and a trainee serving. We were sitting for 30minutes before our order for drinks was taken. 2 of us wanted lobster but the kitchen had already made them all mornay. Too bad if you can’t eat cheese. We were not approached to ask if we needed more drinks or if all was ok with our meal. Overall service was poor and not as we had previously experienced. Food was quite good. Decor could do with an upgrade

8/10Celebrated a birthday at The Grill this evening. Was so looking forward to having their Lobster, both my friend and I ordered the lobster. It was absolutely delicious served with scrumptious chips, salad and vegetables including asparagus. Hubby had the 300gr Angus steak with mushroom sauce, he said the steak melted in his mouth, can’t get better than that. Then my friend and I shared the baked cheesecake, it was most enjoyable. Will recommend and go again, hopefully for a clear night for the sunset,

6/10We have been to the grill many times & loved it but this time it was terrible & we won't be returning. We had a party of 10, the plates were dirty, the bottled beer was warm & had to be sent back, our drinks had some weird white things floating in them, steak was over-cooked & it took well over an hour just to receive entrees when the restaurant wasn't even busy. This was our favourite place to eat when family came up to visit & we always looked forward to it but unfortunately this time it was very dissappointing especially compared to the total of the bill we would expect this from a fast food establishment but not from here. Such a let done. ????

9/10The food we were served at The Grill was extremely good! We had the garlic prawns, lamb shanks and a steak and everything was cooked to perfection and tasted great! The decor and atmosphere felt a little dated but it was still nice and comfortable. The service was good with waiters attending to our every need. Will definitely be going back!

5.5/10We booked by walking in as the phones have not been working for over a week. We wanted to change our booking from 6.30 to 8.30. when we arrived at 8.30 we were ignored as there was a huge line up to pay. I told one waitress that we are ready for our table after waiting a few minutes. The table wasn't wiped and I did ask for it to be wiped. She told me it had been (like I can't tell it hasn't). after that service improved a little with staff having limited English it was a little hard to understand our order (like a Shandi.., nevermind). The steak was very chewey but my bruschetta and fried whole fish were very nice.

7.5/10The food was amazing as usual, we found the service to be very slow and felt like they had forgotten us. We all thought it would be a good idea to have one server for 3 or 4 tables and they just look after those tables instead of having lots of servers looking after all the tables. We have been here lots of times and everytime we come we always say the same thing the food is awesome service is poor. We will come back but only because the food is sooooo good.

4.5/10We come to Port MAC a few times a year and always go to The Grill and recommend it to our family and friends as it has always been nice.We are putting it down to short staffed due to covid and restrictions on numbers and just a bad night. We ordered at 7.15 our drinks took 20 minutes to come out.By 8.15 I asked if they had forgotten our entree..Came back with they ran out of lamb.So we said don’t worry we will just get our mains. My fish/chips was delicious, my husbands seafood platter was like rubber. We will stick to steak n ribs next visit.

2/10Hands down the worst service I have had in my entire life. We called the restaurant before to find out if it was BYO... turns out their phone is disconnected. Upon arrival we waited about 10 minutes before a staff member even noticed us standing at the entrance. When we were eventually seated we were offered dirty menus stained with red wine. Don’t know how as the wine seemed to be in short supply... from the entire wine list provided they only had one wine in stock. The Tyrell’s wine selection was one of the main reasons we choose the venue, so I was astounded that an establishment could let 20 different wines run out of stock. It took the waitress 33 minutes to come take our order and 55 minutes to receive water for the table. The food was a decent but I was so anxious and frustrated from the terrible ordeal I didn’t really eat more than a few bites. Again we couldn’t find any server to ask about the bill so we waited by the door until someone finally noticed us. I asked for a phone number so I could call a manger or email a manager (rest assured I’m no regular Karen, it was just so woeful) but the waitress didn’t provide one, said nothing worked. I would never recommend this place, to anyone; ever. There are plenty of nice places in Port Macquarie but this is not one of them. Save yourself the anxiety and do not go here.. please! I’m sure the only way this place survives is by tourists who come here once and vow never to return. I’ve been to some bad places in my life, even had hair in my food once and I assure you this experience was worse! Would give negative stars if possible.

8.5/10Can't complain about the food and the location but the service was ordinary and very slow. There was only one waitress could have been better with two. People sat at tables complaining and waiting for service

9/10Second time visiting & the food was still as good as the first time a few years back, restaurant was booked out so we did have abit of a wait for mains but it was totally worth it as we did order a full rack of lamb ribs, seafood platter with a full lobster & loved every bit of it, service ladies are friendly & always smiling! It was an beautiful dinner to finish a nice evening after becoming engaged ☺️

4/10Very noisy, asked to be moved from the 3 large groups and was accommodated. We weren't the only diners who asked to be moved. Staff pleasant but require some training. Our dinner, once ordered, was out quickly and was very nicely cooked. Overall, the noise factor and the time to make contact with us when sitting at the first table hugely influenced our scoring
