we had booked this pub as they advertised a $9.90 lunch time special for Monday to Wednesday. The special was still on the website on the Tuesday morning when i checked the website. But when we arrived and i asked for the $9.90 menu, the surly waitress informed us that it was not available - bad luck. 'we took it off on the weekend' 'it was still available on the website this morning?'. ' well its not available now!' it made me feel very bad as it was the sole reason we had booked to come. i felt badly treated and we will not come here again. there are plenty of other places to eat.

I chose this pub as it scored highly on urban spoon. When we got there, there was only 2 people sitting at the bar. No one greeted us or gave us a menu. There was a terrible smell. After sitting down for 5 minutes we decided to leave.

The Irish Times is the quintessential Irish pub experience and serves what is probably the best pint of Guinness in Australia. Accordingly it is not for any time of formal dining experience. However it's pub menu is excellent and our party of five (3 teenagers and two adults) went a bit wild on the burgers - I has an excellent Swiss burger experience, my wife had the Guinness Onion Ring Tower, two of the teenagers tried the other varieties and all were rated 10/10. All in all what you see is what you will get but the quality of food and friendly service sets it apart.

Food was well presented and served within a reasonable time given it was the usual lunch time rush.

About The Irish Times Pub

Get Your Guinness Here What is it about Irish pubs that we all love so much? Maybe it’s the traditional dark wood interior and the jovial atmosphere. Or maybe it’s the ample supply of thirst-quenching beers on tap and classic pub food. The Irish Times Pub on Little Collins Street in the heart of Melbourne CBD certainly has all in spades. Sit at the wraparound bar or sidle up to a table near one of the cosy fireplaces. You’ll find an extensive range of beers on tap — including Guinness, of course — as well as plenty of wines and spirits. As for the food, the luck of the Irish is with you — you can’t go wrong here. It’s classic casual pub fare. Think chicken schnitzel burger, shepherd’s pie, hearty Irish stew and fish and chips. The burgers here are postcard-worthy, too. Try the legendary Irish Times Guinness Tower burger or the jalapeno burger if you’re in the mood for a little zing. The Irish Times Pub is great for a pre-drink and dinner before a night out, or it’s a great night out all on its own. Best dish: The legendary Irish Times Guinness Tower burger
